Introduction

Director Ren Pengnian (1894-1968.2.23). Shanghainese. Graduated from Shanghai Yinghua Library. At the age of sixteen, he entered the Shanghai Commercial Press and worked in the moving film department of the museum from 1918. In 1919, he directed the short film "A Good Gambling to Die". In 1921, he directed the feature film "Yan Ruisheng" for the China Film Research Society. In 1926, he founded Oriental Film Company, and in the same year he filmed the film "The Worker's Wife". In 1928, the company was renamed Yueming Film Company, and became the first generation of martial arts film directors in my country by filming the thirteen-episode martial arts film "Kwantung Heroes". In 1935, he directed the anti-Japanese sound film "Darkness", and later directed martial arts films such as "The Female Escort". In 1948, she directed Cantonese films in Hong Kong and successively filmed costume and fashion heroine films such as "Quantico", "Female Warrior" and "Mysterious Woman". In 1960, Yueming Film Company was reorganized and produced films such as "The Secret Three Female Detectives" and "The Flying Heroine Huang Ying Cleverly Solved the Diamond Case". He retired from the film industry after directing the film "Tiger Kwan" in 1963.
