Storyline
Bilbo Baggins is an elderly hobbit. On his 110th birthday, he decided to leave his hometown and hand over all his property to his nephew Frodo Baggins. However, the only thing Bilbo couldn't bear to part with was a magic ring that made the holder invisible, but according to him, it was just a worthless gadget. The guardian of the hobbits, the gray robe wizard Gandalf, became suspicious of the ring. He desperately studied a large number of historical records, and the results confirmed that his greatest fear had come true. He told Frodo what he had discovered:
Thousands of years ago, the Dark Lord Sauron forged the Ring of Power. He gave three of the rings to the Elf King, seven to the dwarf nobles, and nine to humans. And Sauron secretly forged a Supreme Ring, which has the power to enslave the whole world. For a whole century, the whole world was shrouded in darkness. The Alliance of Elves and Men declared war on Sauron and his orc army. Although the Alliance suffered heavy sacrifices, they successfully drove Sauron back to Mordor, his last stronghold - the Mountains of Doom. The trapped beast was forced to fight in person, Sauron killed the human emperor Elendil on the battlefield and shattered his Holy Sword of Narsil. Then, Isildur, the prince of Elendil, picked up the fragment of the holy sword, used it to cut off Sauron's finger, and took away the One Ring. Sauron, who lost his power, was annihilated on the spot, and his troops fled in all directions.
After the battle, Elf King Elrond suggested that Isildur throw the Ring into the flames of Mount Doom to completely destroy it. But Isildur was bewitched by the power of the Ring and decided to keep it. He soon discovered that this magic ring gave him the power of invisibility, but this ability would disappear as soon as he took off the ring. The orc troops discovered him after he had become invisible and took the opportunity to kill him. The Ring fell to the bottom of the Anduin River, where it lay dormant for thousands of years until Groom became its new master.
Like the previous holders of the Ring, Groom was also bewitched by the power of the Ring. He turned out to be a creature similar in appearance to a hobbit, but the corrupted power of the Ring distorted his mind and deformed his body. He finally hid in an orc lair in the Misty Mountains until he happened to meet Bilbo Baggins. Little does he know that the fate of the world lies in his hands.
After Bilbo's birthday party, Gandalf informed Frodo that the Dark Lord Sauron already knew that his Lord of the Rings fell into the hands of the Hobbits. Sauron is rebuilding the fortress of Barad-dur, gathering countless orcs, preparing to seize the Lord of the Rings with an army and conquer the world. He also told Frodo that the power of the Ring would corrupt its holder, leading to death. To destroy the Ring, it must be thrown into the fire where it was originally forged; that is, the Mountains of Doom in Sauron's lair.
So, Frodo, accompanied by his loyal partners Samwise, Merry and Pippin, embarked on a journey to destroy the Lord of the Rings. Along the way, they were constantly pursued and intercepted by Sauron's minions, the Black Knights (these knights were also called the Ringwraiths). They also encountered the imprisonment of the sinister white-robed wizard Saruman and the attacks of the terrifying Balrog. Fortunately, with the protection and help of the knight Aragon, the elf princess Ewen, the human warrior Boromire, the elf queen Granriel, the elf Legolas, the dwarf Gimli and the wizard Gandalf, Frodo and the others... The Lord of the Rings expedition has saved the day time and time again.
However, what can really prevent Frodo from destroying the Ring is the Ring itself: the ring's instigating power makes Frodo alienate everyone, and at the same time makes Frodo himself sink deeper and deeper...
