When the battery is exposed to the environment below 15C, the chemical activity of the battery decreases significantly, and the increase of its internal resistance leads to the decrease of discharge capacity, and the voltage drop increases when the battery is discharged. There are two major risks when the voltage drops sharply (the single battery is less than 3V): First, the maximum thrust of the aircraft power system is not enough to maintain flight; Second, the battery will shut down actively to avoid excessive discharge. This feature is a common problem of lithium batteries, and there is no perfect solution at present. Smart devices such as mobile phones and tablets used by everyone will also be turned off in a low temperature environment.

A self-important aircraft needs more current to maintain power; The aircraft continues to fly with large maneuver, such as when climbing at full throttle, the battery will continue to discharge with large current; In the plateau area, due to the thin air and low air pressure, the aircraft needs higher motor speed to maintain power, and the battery output current will further increase. The above situation, coupled with the low temperature in winter, further increases the battery voltage drop. 3. Keep the plane hovering for about one minute after take-off, so that the battery can fully preheat itself by using internal heat and reduce the internal resistance of the battery.

When using aerial vehicles in winter, besides routine inspection items, the following contents should also be noted:

1. Before taking off, make sure that the remote controller, aircraft and monitoring equipment are fully charged.

Second, pay attention to observe the temperature of the aircraft battery. When the temperature is below-10, it is forbidden to use the battery. When the battery temperature is-10 to 5, it is necessary to keep hovering at low altitude after take-off to preheat the battery. When the temperature reaches above 5, you can fly normally. It should be noted that if the ambient temperature is too low (for example, below -20), hovering at low altitude may not be able to preheat the battery, so other methods such as preheater should be used to make the battery temperature above 5. The best use temperature of the battery is 20℃, and the battery temperature should reach 20-25℃ before normal flight.

Third, use battery insulation stickers or other insulation measures.

Fourth, avoid greedy flying. It is recommended to set the low battery alarm to 50%. Because the voltage will drop very quickly in a low temperature environment, you should return as soon as possible after giving an alarm.

Five, pay attention to the amount of rod, try not to operate with large amount of rod for a long time.
