The reason for not being photogenic

Question 1: Why don't I go to the camera? In fact, some professional photographers take the same photos as those in the mirror, and others see the same things as you in the mirror. Your photo is not good because it is not photogenic. The following is the most scientific answer. Please have a look.

Some people are beautiful, but the photos they take are always not good-looking, so they say "not photogenic" Ha ha, I thought about this question for a long time, and finally found the answer through my own photography experience and consulting relevant materials:

1, a beautiful face needs the close and organic cooperation of people's five senses, and a little disorder will greatly reduce the beautiful face. It is often said that some people have good facial features, but they don't look good together. It seems that not only the five senses are better, but also their collocation and proportion are very important. In ancient China, the proportion requirement for handsome men was "three courts and five eyes";

2. Is the photo taken a real face? To be sure, 90% did not reflect the original appearance, but deformed! ! This deformation destroys the delicate proportion of the five senses, makes beautiful women ugly, and of course makes some ugly ones look better than reality;

3. Why is photography deformed?

This deformation is called perspective in photography:

We have seen all the close-up portraits taken with wide-angle lenses, in which the nose of the subject is surprisingly large compared with other organs of the face. This is a feature of perspective distortion in many photos taken with wide-angle lenses.

In order to understand the cause of this distortion, let's first discuss the normal perspective. As we all know, one way for our eyes to feel distance is to use the relative size of an object, and the brain will tell us that the farther an object is, the smaller it appears. In photography, the same method is used to determine the perspective relationship. Objects in the distance are smaller than those of the same size nearby. For this reason, when we look far away, parallel trajectories will get closer and closer until they converge. The essence of this phenomenon is that the distance between rails becomes smaller on the surface. Another manifestation of perspective is that the closer the object is, the stronger the perspective effect is. For example, 200 soldiers marched in a row. If you watch or photograph the parade at a distance of 10 feet from the soldier in front, the soldier in front will appear much taller than the last soldier. However, if you watch or photograph the same team at a distance of 100 meters from the soldier in front, the size difference between the first soldier and the last soldier will not be so big.

To sum up, in reality, our eyes can eliminate this perspective distortion through life experience, while the camera is not so intelligent and can only be copied, so the soldiers photographed are all tall before and short after, and we can roughly judge the height of the soldiers before and after through life experience.

4. How to avoid this deformation? This is determined by photography, that is, the principle of lens, which can't be corrected basically and can only be minimized;

So why is the wide-angle lens often the source of distorted perspective, such as the weird nose in the example? Because wide-angle lenses are often shot very close to the subject, the closer the shooting distance, the stronger the perspective effect. The reason is that simple.

In other words, if all lenses are used at the same distance, the wide-angle lens will not distort the perspective more than any other lens. In fact, it is not difficult to prove this through experiments. Shoot a row of columns or a row of trees or any row of objects with lenses with different focal lengths. All the photos are taken at the same position, and then enlarge the same part of each image in order to get the same size image in the photos. Finally, no matter what the focal length of the lens is, the perspective effect of any photo will not be different. The reason is that the shooting distance of all photos is the same, that is, the distance from the subject to the lens is the same.

Now, let's go back to the problem of weird big nose in close-up portraits. The tip of a person's nose is about 1 inch closer to the lens than other parts of the face. Because the closer the subject is, the bigger it will appear, so the nose will appear disproportionately larger than other parts of the face when it is close to shooting. So, why does a wide-angle lens make this distortion more obvious? Because in order to make people feel full of pictures, the wide-angle lens must be very close to the subject. For any kind of lens, this distortion will occur when it is very close to the subject to a certain extent. The closer to the main body, the more serious the distortion. It is precisely because I want the subject to fill the picture that I have just entered the distortion range of the wide-angle lens.

5. how to reduce it? Is it standard? > & gt

Question 2: Why are many beautiful people not photographed? Three points:

First, my sister doesn't like taking pictures, which means that the expressions and actions in the photos will be involuntarily nervous. On the contrary, this kind of girl will look good when she captures life, but once she deliberately takes pictures, it will be ugly.

Second, girls' facial features are relatively flat, the photos look good, and the time effect accounts for half. Therefore, it is easy for girls with deep eye sockets and high nose bridge to look good, because the eye sockets and nose bridge in the photo will reflect beautiful light effects. And some "beautiful women", such as good figure, big eyes and good face, rarely add points to the photos.

Third, girls are good, photography sucks, ladies look good, and temperament is very important. A photographer who can grasp the girl's temperament and present it in photos is more important. For example, a girl is a little fresh, that is, a natural literary fan. Her friend took a photo of her at the barbecue stall ... What do you expect to see? John doe has a good figure. Take a big face photo ...

Question 3: What if people are not in the camera? Some people are not as good-looking as real people in the camera. But it can be improved through hard work.

Make up. Use 1 deep foundation to darken both sides of the face, highlight the bridge of the nose and make the eye-catching painting deeper. Generally speaking, you should make your face three-dimensional, not so flat, so the effect will be much better. Remember to draw blush, which can make your face much more vivid.

There is also expression, which is very important. Practice in front of the mirror and see how you smile the most beautifully. If you shoot too much, it will be fine naturally. I tried this.

There is also posture, be careful not to hunch over, hold your head up, chest up and abdomen in, but keep it natural and don't be too artificial. Generally speaking, frontal photos may not look good. You can turn your body a little bit to make people look thinner ~ ~ Wearing high heels can also make your figure more beautiful.

Finally, the pose of taking pictures ~ well, you should refer to how people who take good-looking photos pose, try it yourself ~

Wish you success ~!

Question 4: There are many reasons why photos are not photogenic and beautiful.

The biggest possibility is that you are not confident enough in front of the camera, so that your expression is stiff and your eyes are dull. In this way, the photos taken will have no magical color.

Second, photos are fixed moments. Most people's facial contours may not be perfect, but they usually look better, because we are in an active state at ordinary times, and people's expressions and postures also affect our judgment of a person's appearance to a considerable extent, so we don't pay attention to those imperfections. Because photos are fixed expressions and people are not dynamic, our attention will focus on those places that were not perfect, and we feel that photos are ignored.

Third, of course, it may also be the photographer's technical problem, but because we can't control this here, we won't focus on it for the time being.

Solution:

First of all, don't be discouraged, and you can't stop taking pictures, because you are always worried that taking pictures will make people more nervous in front of the camera, their expressions will become more unnatural and the photos will be ugly.

The best way is to find out the photos you have taken before, and carefully analyze which photos you look beautiful in, and what kind of angles and expressions you have in these beautiful photos;

Then practice this expression in front of the mirror to find the best lens feeling;

When taking pictures, try to face the camera at this beautiful angle, so that you can take more beautiful photos.

In addition, confident and cheerful expressions can often take particularly touching photos. Don't always worry about what's wrong, just laugh when you should. Smile is the most beautiful expression. When people see a smiling face, they often turn their attention to the smile itself, instead of paying attention to the outline of the face, and the photo can be successful.

Question 5: What do people mean when they say that the photos are not photogenic? They are uglier than themselves.

In fact, this is related to the level of the photographer; It is related to the subject's personal accomplishment, angle of view and whether or not to pose.

Question 6: What are the reasons for being "photogenic" and "photogenic"? Do you look good?

But taking pictures is not as good as people who are not as good-looking as you.

Take reality as a benchmark

Question 7: Why are good-looking people not photogenic in reality, but photogenic people are not so good-looking in reality? Now there is a beauty camera

Question 8: What if I don't look ugly in front of the camera? I have the same problem! This is not photogenic! ! ! ! Some people's photos are always better than their own, and some people's photos are always uglier than their own. In fact, there are rules:

1. People with thin faces are photographed: people in photos will get fat, so very small thin faces are often photographed and pulled just right. And just a good or slightly chubby and lovely face can easily be made into a steamed stuffed bun face, which is very unfavorable.

2. stereo photo with five senses: People with obvious five senses have strong refraction to light, and the photos are flat, so things with strong refraction to light can be better reflected. And some people's facial features are not strong, but the proportion is good and exquisite. Usually people are very beautiful, but taking pictures is a disadvantage.

3. People with dark skin or poor skin are relatively easy to shoot: people with dark skin can't see how dark or poor they are in the photos, which means they have removed one of their shortcomings, so they get extra points. People with very * * * skin can only see that they are white and tender in the photos. Everyone's skin looks good and there is little difference in skin color. This is equivalent to saying that one of her advantages has been obliterated, and she will naturally lose points. And a mirror. Reed is the true self, and 90% of the photos are not the true self. Just say that the reality looks good. Confidence? If you have to be photographed, just find a better technician! !

Question 9: Why do we always feel that we are not photogenic? Why do real people often feel better than photos? According to the blog of British Psychological Association, recent psychological research found that people generally think that a person's video will look more beautiful than his video screenshot. Psychologists call it the "frozen face effect". Maybe those friends who are desperate for their photos can feel a little comfort. Psychologists at the University of California and Harvard University have found that people think that people in videos look better than screenshots of the same video. In other words, even if you think you look miserable in the holiday photos, don't worry, others will think that the real person you moved is much better than the photos. They think this may be related to the way the impression of dynamic face is formed. People will average the same face in different positions and different sides. This is consistent with the previous study that "the average face is more attractive". Another possibility is that "dynamic faces better activate our neural mechanism of facial recognition". After all, shortly after the invention of the camera, our brain's face recognition system evolved to deal with dynamic faces instead of static faces. Psychologists and his colleagues asked participants to rate two-second videos and still pictures taken from them and evaluate how beautiful 20 people in the videos or pictures were. It turns out that the score of the same face in the video is higher than that in the still picture. The experiment attempts to further explore the deep mechanism of this effect. This effect also exists when videos and pictures are viewed upside down. Researchers believe that this is not because the video contains more information, but because the video has gained more praise after being compared with the video and several still pictures taken from the same video. Memory will not be an influencing factor, and good-looking portraits will not be much easier to remember than ordinary ones. However, the researchers found that in order to be considered more attractive, those videos need to be played in order. Video with chaotic frames does not score higher than static pictures. Researchers say their findings can explain why portrait photography is so challenging. The "frozen face effect" can explain why facial photography is so difficult to master and why people often think that real people are more beautiful than cameras.

Question 10: Why are some people not photographed? Some people have good lines, and the outline of their faces will look good if they are photographed clearly. Some people are good-looking, but the outline is not so obvious, so they are not good-looking when photographed.
