Jinyang Lake is located in Donggu Village, Taiyuan City, 3 kilometers away from the urban area, with a lake area of 4.8 square kilometers. Jinyang Lake is introduced from the west main canal of Fenhe River, with good water quality, with an average depth of 4 meters and the deepest point of 8 meters. The highest water temperature is 33℃ in summer and 5- 15℃ in winter, and it does not freeze all year round. Taiyuan Municipal Government decided to build Jinyang Lake Park, covering an area of 1.2 square kilometers. The park is planned as nine major areas, including green belt around the lake, water park, fishing area, cultural and entertainment area, plant park, resort, camping area, hunting ground and living service area. The construction period is 1996 to 1998. The first phase of the project is to fill the lake and dam, plant trees, build roads along the lake, and equip recreational facilities such as yachts and fishing. After the park is completed, it will become the largest lake park in the whole province and even in North China.
