What is the National Jury Award for?

National Review Award Committee

NationalBoardofReviewAwards: it is one of the weathervanes of American Oscars.

The American Film Critics Association was founded in 1908. Although its members are all over the film and television, news, publishing, law and other industries, after nearly a century of selection and accumulation, it has absorbed a large number of Oscar Academy judges.

Chinese name: National Jury Award.

Nationality: USA

Date of birth: 1909

Occupation: film critic

Faith: National Film Critics Association

Representative works: Los Angeles Film Critics Association

Basic introduction

The National Film Critics Association of the United States was founded in 1909, and it is called the top five film critics associations in the United States together with the New York Film Critics Association, the National Film Critics Association of the United States, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and the Boston Film Critics Association. In previous years, the annual awards were given first by the association, but since last year, the New York Film Critics Association began to give first prizes. But it is precisely because the award was awarded earlier that the coincidence rate with the Oscar is not high. However, due to the selection of the top ten feature films, five best documentaries and five best foreign language films of the year, the National Review Committee has basically been able to determine the popular films shortlisted for the Oscar.
