Ren Pengyuan’s personal resume
Growing up in a middle-class family in Beijing, due to his parents’ work, Ren Pengyuan could only stay at home alone during winter and summer vacations. His parents knew that he loved movies, so they applied for a video rental card for him. During every holiday, in addition to doing homework, he also watches movies. He can watch up to five movies a day. Before graduating from elementary school, Ren Pengyuan has already watched many movies.
When he was in junior high school, Ren Pengyuan began to shoot clips of life with the V8 camera at home, and gradually began to learn how to edit these clips together. After entering high school, he purposefully shot some plot-based footage, and eventually completed a short film about the police catching drug dealers.
Student at the Department of Management (Producer Direction) of Beijing Film Academy from 2003 to 2007.
While in school, he shot a number of short films, including the feature short film "Gyro" (which won the Jury Prize at the First College Student DV Video Art Festival), and the commercial "AMD Heart - Super Fast" (which won the Special Prize in the Sina Advertising Competition), documentary "Silver Cornerstone" (this film is a promotional film for the 20th anniversary of the founding of the School of Continuing Education of the Beijing Film Academy).
From 2008 to 2009, he studied filmmaking at Kingston University, London, England, and received a master's degree (Kingston University, MA Filmmaking). All the works shot while in school received grades of A or above (the highest is A+), including "2+1=0" (the film won the gold medal in the London University Student Short Film Competition), "KU and UK" (the film won the gold medal in the London College Student Short Film Competition, UK) Johnston University official promotional video), "Charity Box" (also known as "Charity Box", this film was nominated for the best short film at the 10th China University Student Film Festival).
After returning to China in 2010, he served as the executive director of many films, and served as the executive director of a record 12 films that year, including "A Hundred Years of Love Letters" and the ten series of digital films "Tiger Head" Fortress" etc. From 2010 to the present, he has also served as the director of many advertising works, including "The Office Life of a Hard-working IT Guy - Blood Type" for "263 Enterprise Mailbox".
In August 2011, he wrote and directed the digital film "The Battle of Chengcheng Beacon" produced by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's Film Satellite Channel, starring: Zhang Duo, Qin Li, Jiang Bing, Wu Ri root.
In May 2012, he wrote and directed the movie "Stinging Night" co-produced by Anhui Film Group and the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television's Film Satellite Channel ***, starring: Pu Bajia, He Dujuan, Du Yiheng, Wang Zizi and Wu Weidong.
At the end of 2013, he joined the China Film Directors Association.
On April 19, 2013, the director's first theatrical film "Stinging Night" had its grand premiere on CCTV-6 movie channel
