What is a dual-lens camera?

My understanding of dual lens is to broaden the camera's perspective from telephoto lens to wide-angle lens. To tell the truth, it makes me feel that the effect of this camera is the same as that of ordinary cameras, but as a sales highlight, we really don't have much advantage. In other words, are there two CCDs in it?
