Why is the shape of the submarine designed and manufactured by China so different from that of the 039 series submarine?

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PLA Navy, the theme of military parade was held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The Type 039G submarine, together with the imported Kilo-class submarine, completely replaced the Type 033 and Type 035 submarines, and completed the all-round upgrade of the weapons and equipment of the main battle tank of China submarine force.

At the same time, 039G submarines have been in service. At that time, everyone's military scientific research units took a good look at the best AIP driving technology in the world, and prepared to basically choose AIP technology on the successful service platform of 039G, so that the driving technology of 039G could reach the excellent level of conventional submarines in the world. In the 20th century, after scientific research, scientific research and hard work, in 2004, the improved submarine 039A with Stirling engine was used in AIP power system to successfully drain water. Because the comprehensive technical performance of this type of submarine has been greatly improved compared with that of 039G, NATO even named it a meta-class submarine again to distinguish it from the previous 039G Song-class submarine.

As we all know, the improvement of Type 039 submarine has not stopped. How strong is the 039 new and improved submarine?

Type 039B submarine is an AIP conventional submarine developed and built on the basis of Type 039A submarine. Area bow 13 launched. There are several key improvements and upgrades:

First, the hull became longer, and the long pear-shaped design scheme was chosen, which was more suitable for the natural environment of ocean-going operations. Its hull is relatively long, and the corresponding length-width ratio is very large, so the design scheme mainly gives a lot of indoor space, which makes the installation of hull machinery and equipment more convenient, configures a lot of loads, and improves the crew's office environment, but the disadvantage is that the friction resistance of navigation is amplified to a certain extent, which is also harmful to the maneuverability of the submarine.

The line modeling of the skirt building enclosure has been improved, and some of them have been improved according to the three-dimensional liquid line design scheme. The top of the podium enclosure is smooth, and the fillet structure is modified at the joint with the submarine behavior subject, which is not easy to cause hydrodynamic noise, and is also beneficial to improve the water separation phenomenon on the outer edge of the podium enclosure and restrain eddy current. This improvement reduces the harm of the podium coaming to the submarine wake, thus improving the submarine's quiet performance and the submarine's hidden work ability. In addition, the volume and height-width ratio of the podium enclosure are reduced, and the friction resistance is also reduced accordingly, which is beneficial to improve the reliability and maneuverability of the submarine. This technology has already been used in excellent nuclear-powered submarines and a few excellent conventional submarines in Russia and America, and has achieved excellent practical results. It is one of the obvious design symbols of the best submarine in the world.

Third, at the power plant level, upgrade again. Basically, the technology of Stirling automobile engine made in China has been boldly improved, and the output power and stability of the engine have been improved. The AIP propulsion system software of 039A submarine is selected again, and the system software is driven by two-axis diesel-electric distance. The AIP system is a Stirling engine. Compared with the system software of 039A submarine, the key is to further improve the output power, stability and mute performance, and further improve the submarine's underwater combat and mute performance.

Fourth, the software of the water sound system has been greatly upgraded. Underwater acoustic system software is the "secret service personnel" of submarine, and it is also one of the weaknesses of submarine technology in China. The new and improved version of 039B has made great progress in the software technology of underwater acoustic system. In order to better support the application of the new Yu -6 super heavy torpedo boat, the 039B submarine is also equipped with relatively perfect underwater acoustic system software, and a large underwater sonar array is installed at the bow. Due to the long effective range of Yu -6, it is stipulated that the underwater sonar of the bow array can correct the fire control and mark the overall target of the torpedo boat in a larger effective range, so it is necessary to increase the detection distance of the large array underwater sonar. In addition, the underwater sonar of bow array is farthest from the engine room, so installing it in this place is also beneficial to improve the passive monitoring ability of bow array, and choosing large array is also beneficial to reduce underwater monitoring.

Fifth, the mute technology has been improved. As the backbone of China Navy's ocean-going operations, Type 039B submarine is likely to deal with the best offensive nuclear submarines and conventional submarines in the world. Therefore, the mute level must be further improved. First, the line shape must be improved, including the design of the podium enclosure mentioned above, and the hull is equipped with silencing tiles. It is said that the anechoic tile of Type 039B submarine is a new generation of anechoic tile developed in China, with lower coverage frequency, so as to actively detect underwater sonar in response to the increasingly common low frequency of weapons and equipment. In other aspects, new technologies such as double-layer floating raft damping, sound absorption in the pipe, and seven-blade large-lateral-rotating aircraft propeller are used in the 039B submarine, which further reduces the noise of the submarine and improves the noise elimination performance.
