What should Apple pay attention to when shooting videos with mobile phones?
The iPhone X has a 7-megapixel front camera, which Apple calls the original depth camera. The original camera system contains a series of precise lenses and sensors, which can realize many unique new functions of iPhone X.
The foreground lens supports portrait mode selfie, which can easily take a beautiful selfie with clear foreground, blurred background and full artistic sense. At the same time, the new portrait lighting function can create amazing studio-level lighting effects.
However, how can we give full play to their effects and take ideal photos? Apply the following iPhone X camera skills, and your selfie will have a studio-level effect.
portrait mode
The front camera of iPhone X supports portrait mode, which allows users to get rid of the complicated photo processing in the later stage and directly obtain the depth-of-field photos comparable to professional cameras in the shooting stage.
Open the camera app and swipe to switch to portrait mode. By adding the depth of field effect, the background is subtly blurred, and the accurately focused face is set off, thus taking a stunning selfie. After taking a photo, tap Edit to choose to apply studio lights, outline lights, stage lights or monochrome stage lights.
expose
The light source is too bright, the photo is white, and the light source is too dark. You can use the exposure settings to adjust the exposure to the appropriate level.
Before you press the shutter, you can adjust the exposure to make the light effect set off your selfie properly. To manually adjust the exposure, tap the screen, then press and hold the screen and slide up and down to increase or decrease the exposure.
Lock focus and exposure
Find the right focus and exposure effect, but what if you want to change your selfie posture? Press and hold the screen until "Auto Exposure/Auto Focus Lock" is displayed, so that the focusing and exposure effects can be locked.
Timing mode
You can use the volume button or tap the screen to take photos, but if you want to take a selfie that blends in with the scenery, you can set the timer mode. This way, you can take pictures without pressing any key, and there is still enough time to walk into the beautiful scenery and shape.
Click the timer icon at the top of the camera screen and select the 3-second or 10-second timer.
Automatic enhancement function
You took a selfie, but it's a little flawed and you want to retouch it. At this time, the self-enhancing wand can come in handy.
Click the magic wand in the upper right corner in editing, which can quickly improve the exposure, contrast, saturation and other quality of photos. This shortcut can make your selfie more eye-catching.
Real-time selfie
Want to add dynamic effects to selfies? You can use real-time photos to make repeated images.
First, when taking a selfie, open the live photo, select the image in "Photos", and then slide up until the live photo effects such as "Loop Play" and "Play Back and forth" are displayed.
Not long ago, Apple co-produced the short film "Three Minutes" with the famous director Chen Kexin. This short film tells the story of a train conductor's mother and her children who have only three minutes to reunite at the peak of Spring Festival travel rush. Interestingly, the movie "Three Minutes" was completely shot by iPhone X.
Behind the touching story, many users feel that they are also holding the iPhone. Why can't I make a "blockbuster" feeling? Don't worry, Apple invited two photographers to talk about the experience and skills of shooting with iPhone, so that you can also shoot a "blockbuster" effect during the Spring Festival. The following Sina mobile phone will do a simple combing for everyone:
1, skillfully using portrait light effect mode
Portrait lighting mode is the first function introduced by Apple in iPhone 8 Plus (also supported by iPhone X). It uses the dual cameras of the new iPhone and the facial feature recognition technology in the system to simulate various lighting effects in photos.
"portrait light effect" in iPhone X
This function has one advantage-highlighting people and filtering out complex backgrounds. Many times, the environment in which we take pictures is not perfect, even a little messy. At this time, if you take pictures of people, it will make the picture look a little confusing, but after turning on the portrait light effect mode, the result will be very different.
Photographer Liu Dan took some photos of hard-working workers through the portrait light effect mode of iPhone X, which focused on the five senses of the characters and some clothing accessories. Liu Dan explained that the portrait lighting mode was adopted because the subjects were all outdoors, the lighting conditions were general, there was only natural light, and the background layout was messy (all of them were taken at the hard workers' work site).
Compare the photo taken by Liu Dan in portrait lighting mode (right).
Therefore, if you encounter a messy environment and want to take a portrait, try the portrait light effect mode, which can bring you a different shooting experience.
2. Learn to control focusing (photometry)
Many people know that clicking on the phone screen to focus before taking a picture can make the lens focus on the subject you want to shoot. In fact, focusing has another function-metering. On iPhone X, if metering and focusing are not at the same point, you can press and hold the screen to lock the focus, and then pull the exposure compensation bar up and down to adjust the exposure.
We often encounter the situation that the focus is on people and the background sky is overexposed when shooting with mobile phone backlight (as shown below). When this happens, if the light is measured in the sky, the character part will be very dark; If you put the metering point on a person, the sky will be overexposed.
In this case, he will choose the light between the brightest and the darkest to measure the light, which not only takes care of the dark parts but also accommodates the highlights, leaving room for later creation. Of course, we can also adjust it by pulling the exposure compensation bar.
3. Use the camera software of iPhone.
There are many photo and post-production applications in the App Store that allow us to take special photos. Photographer Zhang Xin introduced some skills of shooting the Year of China with iPhone X, including some interesting applications.
For example, if you want to take a photo of the moon with your hometown, you can use Pro Cam to open the second lens of iPhone X (of course, you can also use your own camera to open the dual zoom). This lens is a medium focal length lens with an equivalent focal length of 52mm, which is more suitable for me to shoot the moon now.
Using Focos software in conjunction with the portrait mode of iPhone X, you can create photos with different blur effects. "Focos can control the size, shape and direction of Jiao Wai, and even imitate the Jiao Wai effect of some old lenses, which can make our portraits more personalized.
Background blur has different effects.
Another example is the application of VSCO, which has many filters with different effects. Using these filters can make photos unique. Zhang Xin said in his introduction that his most commonly used AU5 filter can improve the warm color effect in the picture.
4. The built-in camera also has some "hidden" functions.
In terms of taking photos, if you make good use of some built-in functions of iPhone X, you can also get different surprises. Zhang Xin introduced a small hidden function-long exposure effect. In fact, long exposure is a very common shooting technique, which captures the trajectory of moving objects in the picture by extending the shutter speed.
But this technique often requires professional equipment such as tripod to stabilize the camera and shoot. On the iPhone X, we can choose "long exposure effect" and combine a photo by dragging. First of all, we have to turn on the function of "live" on the camera (formerly called Live Photo), and select the long exposure effect after taking a photo, and the mobile phone will automatically synthesize a special effect photo.
