What kind of digital cameras do journalism students usually use?

Canon's digital camera should be a good choice for quasi-professional G series machines, such as G6. Rich manual functions and rich adjustment parameters are very suitable for learning various shooting methods. The size of the machine is moderate, so it is convenient to go out and capture various experiences.

I remember seeing a famous foreign photographer go out with two cameras, one is a digital SLR, and the other is a Canon A series machine. Indeed, Canon A series can be said to be a simplified version of Canon G series, and its functions are not weak. If the budget is not high, just study and take into account the usual use of digital cameras, then choose Canon A6 10!

As for many occasions where large zoom lenses are needed for news shooting, there are many options at present. For example, the Canon PowerShot S2 has an optical zoom of 12 times.

Canon PowerShot Pro 1 has 7x optical zoom.

Panasonic DMC-FZ5 is also 12 times optical zoom and so on.

Of course, the prices of these models are relatively high, depending on your actual needs.

To sum up, I still think Canon's A series products are most suitable for moderate price, good performance, good startup speed and lagging shutter. Even if I use a more professional camera in the future, this machine can also be competent for ordinary shooting!
