Common insects in northern China

This is the oriental migratory locust.

North China: The northern boundary starts from Yanshan Mountain, Zhangbei Platform, Luliang Mountain and Liupanshan Mountain in the east, reaches Qilian Mountain in the west, Qinling and Huaihe River in the south, and borders the Yellow River and Bohai Sea in the east, including the Loess Plateau, Jire Mountain and Huanghuai Plain. It belongs to the warm temperate zone, with warm winter and hot summer. This area is the oldest agricultural area in China and the main producing area of cotton, wheat and miscellaneous grains. Agricultural pests are widely distributed and do serious harm. Representative species are North China mole cricket, East Asian migratory locust, alfalfa blind stinkbug, ditch kowtow, black velvet chafer, apple moth, wheat midge and so on.
