How to film skating

Shooting skating has the following items and methods:

A. Speed skating: Speed skating is a competitive event in which athletes slide on the ice at high speed with running knives. The start of speed skating and the straight running on the way are good shooting opportunities. But in comparison, the speed of running in corners is very fast, and the athletes' movements are also beautiful. Especially when shooting athletes' bodies leaning towards the center of the circle, it is a good time.

It is best to shoot this dynamic angle in front of the right side of the lane outside the entrance or exit of the curve to capture the stepping dynamics of the athletes when they enter the curve or are about to slide out of the curve. The shooting time is to press the shutter immediately when the athlete's right foot presses forward to the left and his left leg pushes the ice straight back to the left. Standing in front of the left side of the inner road at the entrance or exit of the curve, you can photograph the stepping dynamics of the athletes leaning inward and approaching the snow line of the curve, that is, entering or slipping out of the curve. Especially in the 500-meter race, athletes swing their arms to make this action more powerful. Shooting straight running, if the light is used properly, or shooting by following method, can enhance the sense of movement with appropriate scenery against the background.

When athletes rush to the finish line, they usually use double swing arms to speed up the speed of reaching the finish line. The competition is very fierce at this time. If the skating speed of the two athletes is almost the same, it will be more exciting for you to chase after me. Photographers should not let go easily. When shooting speed skating, the shutter speed is generally 1/250 seconds. For example, it is better to take close-ups of skaters with 1/500 seconds.

B. figure skating: figure skating is a melody. Rhythmic ice sports can be divided into prescribed patterns and free skating. In competitions or performances, especially freestyle skating, athletes rotate and jump with the melody and rhythm of music, and their movements change rapidly. Therefore, if the photographer is not prepared enough and shoots in a hurry, it will be difficult to shoot an ideal shot.

There are many graceful movements in free skating, and good movements usually appear on both sides of the field, so the shooting position can be chosen on the left or right side of the field. Don't move too much after the position is fixed. According to the characteristics of athletes' movements, the shooting angle can be downward or upward. Figure skating not only shows athletes' mental outlook, skills and bodybuilding movements, but also shows the difficulty and characteristics of figure skating by taking pictures with dance movements.

Generally, it is better to shoot the rotation of figure skating when the rotation speed is slow. But we should also choose the shooting time according to the morphological characteristics of different movements. Such as bow or swallow, the side looks better, but it is not easy to fully show the action characteristics in front or behind. Take photos of team rotation to avoid taking pictures of athletes' backs.

When shooting figure skating, different shutter speeds can be determined according to different shooting actions. For example, it takes1125 seconds to shoot the balance of swallows and come out after the action is completed. However, 1/250 seconds is enough for shooting rotation, jumping and other actions, if the distance is not too close.
