It's an old thing south of the city.

"Old Things in the South of the City" is an autobiographical collection of short stories by Lin, a famous female writer, with her life between the ages of seven and thirteen as the background.

This paper describes the story of Eiko's warm and harmonious family in a quadrangle in the south of Beijing in the 1920s.

Through Eiko's childish eyes, the book watches the joys and sorrows of the adult world, the joys and sorrows, the faint sadness and the heavy lovesickness.

More than half a century ago, the little girl Lin followed her parents across the ocean from Taiwan Province Province to Beijing. Everything makes Ruth feel novel and fascinated.

The crazy woman in front of Hui 'an Pavilion, the girl with stripes all over her body, the thief infested with weeds, the wet nurse Ma Song who accompanied her day and night, and the loving father who indulged in the underground to die ... all played, laughed and lived with Eiko. Their voices and smiles are still there, but they all leave quietly.
