The environment of Goldsmith College, University of London

Goldsmith College is located in New Cross, southeast London. It is also a place with high population density and prosperous artistic and cultural activities. The main building of the school, Richard Hoggart Building, was built by architect John Thaw Jr. (1803- 1870) and was originally designed as a school (1844 opened). Later, Goldsmith College also built many modern buildings on campus, including the Rutherford Information Service Building, which was completed in 1997 and won the RIBA Architecture Award, and the Ben Pim Lott Building, which was completed in 2005 and designed by Will alsop. In the autumn of 20 10, the new teaching building was officially opened, with studios such as recording studio, studio, darkroom and animation production for teachers and students of media and culture departments.
