When you think there is nothing to shoot, you might as well try these things.

Sometimes taking pictures really loses motivation, because without a certain focal length, you will feel that you can't shoot a work with a certain theme, so you never involve this theme, just shoot a suitable theme within your focal length. You don't want to shoot portraits with wide angles, and you don't want to shoot street scenes with telephoto.

Over time, I got tired of filming. I feel that these photos taken every day are nothing new, but I don't know how to break through this barrier, break the bottle that traps me and get myself out of the bottleneck.

In fact, sometimes, the limitation of equipment can often stimulate your play more. Limitation will open your mind and make you more creative. Only when you leave your comfort zone can you grow into a better self.

Each of us will have a theme that we like and are good at, and there will also be a theme that we are not familiar with or can't shoot well.

So the first challenge is to shoot a new theme, which should be something you haven't shot before. You will encounter difficulties in unfamiliar topics, which will also help you learn new photography techniques.

Maybe you like taking pictures of scenery very much. You can try taking pictures of street scenes. They often use wide-angle lenses. Although the focal length of landscape photography may be wider, it doesn't matter. that this is not the important question. The point is that you don't need to buy additional equipment at all, just need the desire and motivation to shoot new themes.

Once you find a new topic, you just need to ask yourself one question: how to raise the topic you are not good at to a new height?

When shooting, you will encounter all kinds of problems, and you will also consciously think about how to find content, how to compose a composition, and how to capture this moment under different themes.

Thinking will make you know your topic better, and shooting more will make you more proficient in your topic.

Some people may say that I shoot a lot of things and I don't know what I am good at.

You should tidy up the photos you took in the past.

Organizing photos is a good habit. We often find treasures in old photos taken in the past. Most of the photos we took at that time may not look good, but we will look good after a while. Maybe some photos were ignored by myself at that time, and now it is found that there is a strong possibility in the later stage.

Therefore, I don't recommend constantly deleting photos. Except for those photos that are too repetitive, every photo you take has countless possibilities.

Learn to analyze your own works and choose the 20 favorite ones. Look at these photos, and you will find out what you are best at. You have used the lens for the longest time. Do you like black and white or color shooting best?

Analyzing your own works can help you find your own direction and decide the subject matter to shoot next.

Who stipulates that the scenery can only be wide-angle, the street view will be 35, don't take portraits with wide-angle. These are just people's conventions. Maybe some focus segments will perform best on some themes, but that doesn't mean you can't make good works by using other focus segments.

Try to shoot with the wrong lens, or at least try to use those focal segments that don't look so suitable.

Imagine, if you take a portrait with a wide angle, what kind of composition and angle should you take to avoid being beaten up by the model and then all the photos will be destroyed by the model?

The fact is, if you are used to large close-ups with medium telephoto, it will be terrible to take close-ups with wide angle, but you can choose to capture more environment, make the model a part of the environment, and use the environment to set off the model.

The same is true of other subjects. Limitations will force you to think, and thinking will help you find a better direction.
