How to use PS to turn landscape into miniature landscape
We will simulate the unique visual effect of the shifting lens and restore the landscape to a miniature landscape. Shift-axis lens can help us control the focal plane of the lens, restrain convergence deformation and expand the depth of field. If we are good at expanding its uses, we can have more and more special creative effects, such as turning an ordinary town into a miniature landscape. However, if you are not a professional architect or landscape photographer and just want to play such special effects occasionally, buying a camera lens is really a failure. If your Photoshop version is above CS 2, you can try a unique lens blur filter and use post-processing to simulate the unique shallow depth of field effect of shift-axis photography. We can use this technology on any photo, but if you want to create a miniature landscape, you'd better choose a landscape photo of buildings, streets and people taken with a wide-angle lens like the one above. You need to shoot from a downward angle to achieve the most realistic effect. Lens blur filter is the most suitable tool to create shallow depth of field effect. You can directly use the Alpha channel as the depth mapping source to add blur effect to the picture. Although these nouns sound mysterious, the actual operation is not complicated, which can be realized by using the gradient tool. We will tell you how to do this, and at the same time, we will further enhance the toy feeling of photos through tone adjustment. If you are using Photoshop CS6, you can also try the latest fuzzy gallery function. The blur gallery provides three new blur filters, among which the tilt shift filter can obtain adjustment results similar to the tutorial without the help of Alpha channel. 1. Select the brush tool, enlarge the picture to the building part, set the foreground color to black, brush hardness to 0%, and opacity to 50%. 6. Drawing Selection Use the brush tool to add all the roofs of the opposite street to the selection range of the quick mask. When adjusting, you can use the shortcut key [,] to control the size of the brush. In addition, all the scenes that you think are equivalent to the distance between the building and the camera should be added to the quick mask. 7. Create an Alpha channel, click the shortcut key Q again, and launch the quick mask mode to get a selection area equivalent to the mask area just drawn. Execute the menu command "window >: channel" to open the channel panel, and click the "Save as Channel" icon at the bottom of the panel to get the channel named "Alpha 1". 8. Use the shortcut key Ctrl+D to deselect the copied layer, and then use the brush tool in the Alpha 1 channel to sort out all the parts that we may have overlooked just now. Click the RGB channel above to return to normal image mode. Create a mask. Hold down the Ctrl key and click the left mouse button on the Alpha 2 channel in the Channels panel to load it as a selection. Make sure that the enhanced blur layer is selected, then hold down the Alt key and click the Add layer mask button below the Layers panel to associate the selection with the currently selected layer as a layer mask. 14. Enhance the color and keep the top selection. Use the shortcut key Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E to merge all layers into a new layer. Rename the layer to Merge, open the Blending Mode drop-down menu in the upper left corner of the layer panel, and select the overlay mode. 15, Layer Opacity Although we want to enhance the overall contrast and color saturation of the picture to create a miniature atmosphere, the impact of the overlay mode really exceeds our expectations. Setting the opacity slider in the upper right corner of the layer panel to 20% can solve this problem. Then, hold down the Alt key and click the New Layer button below the Layers panel. 16. Finally, adjust and set the mixing mode to soft light, then check the option of filling soft light neutral color below and click OK. Select the brush tool and set its opacity to 20%. Use a black brush to smear on the corners of the picture and the sky to darken it; Then brush the outer wall of the building with a white brush to make it bright.
