Introductory book on structural research and optimization design of optical lenses

My major is optical information science and technology, and I have systematically studied the relevant theories of optics. I can recommend some books to you for your reference:

1. If you want to understand optical design, It’s not whether you want to study this major in the future. If you want to become an enthusiast-level enthusiast, you must first learn some basic theoretical knowledge and have a complete understanding of optics to lay a foundation for further study. Otherwise, just look at professional stuff. You have to go back and look at the basics, which is a waste of time and energy. It's better to succeed once and for all.

2. Let me introduce some introductory books. They are all recognized as excellent teaching materials in China. The mathematical knowledge involved in them is completely acceptable to people with some advanced mathematics foundation. Basically, the contents in the book have relatively mature applications, so it is the foundation. "Optics" edited by Guo Guang; "Principles of Optics" Born (Chinese translation).

3. Then read "Applied Optics", and then you really get into contact with optical lenses, starting with convex lenses, concave lenses and prisms, and then lens combinations

4. And so on It is easier to read optical design books, such as "Optical Design Tutorial" edited by Li Lin, Beijing Institute of Technology Press; "Modern Optical Design Methods", edited by Li Lin, Beijing Institute of Technology Press

5. The optical design books and Applied Optics have some overlap in content on lenses and aberrations. It is recommended to read Applied Optics first, because the teachings there are more detailed and thorough, and the optical design is covered in one stroke.

6. Optical design is all about practical applications, and its physical essence is not explained in depth or not at all. If you want to truly understand the physical connotation, you have to read books on physical optics.
