Synopsis

In the summer of 1945, vito corleone, the head of the Corleone family of the mafia in the United States, held a grand wedding for his youngest daughter Connie. The godfather has three sons: Sonny, the grumpy and lecherous eldest son, Fred, the cowardly second son, and Mike, the youngest son who has just returned from World War II. Among them, Sonny is the right-hand man of the godfather. Mike, though smart and capable, is not interested in the family's "career".

"Godfather" is a mafia leader, who often does illegal activities. But at the same time, he is also the patron saint of many weak civilians and is deeply loved by people. He also has a rule that drug trafficking will never harm people. Therefore, he refused Sollozzo's request, which intensified the contradiction with several other mafia families in new york. On Christmas Eve, Sollozzo kidnapped Tom Hagen, the adopted son of the "godfather" and the family adviser, and sent someone to assassinate the "godfather". This is the second attack on the godfather in his life. The first attack was sketched in a few words in the movie, but in the novel, it is described as follows: a young assassin rushed into the godfather's house with the determination to die and dropped a bomb on the godfather, so the godfather was injured and the assassin was shot dead.

The godfather was shot in the hospital. Sollozzo asked Tom Hagen to try to get Sonny to agree to the drug deal and renegotiate. Sonny was brave and foolhardy. He swore revenge, but there was nothing he could do. Mike went to the hospital to visit his father, but found no one in the hospital. It turned out that the police also colluded with Sollozzo to drive away all the bodyguards in the hospital. So he launched a thrilling struggle in the hospital and finally saved his father's life. The fire between the families is on the verge of breaking out. Sollozzo and the sheriff asked to negotiate with Mike. So Mike took the opportunity to come up with a plan to kill Sollozzo and the sheriff. In a small restaurant, Mike killed Sollozzo and the sheriff with a pistol hidden in the toilet in advance.

Mike fled to Sicily, where he married the beautiful Apollonia and lived an idyllic life. At this time, the vendettas among mafia families in new york became more and more fierce. Sonny was betrayed by Connie's husband, Carlo, and was shot by the bassini family at the highway toll booth. The "godfather" came back from injury and arranged reconciliation between families. Mike who heard the bad news was also attacked. Fabrizio, the bodyguard who was bought by < P >, planted a bomb in Mike's car. Although Mike survived, he lost his beloved wife. Mike returned to new york in 1951 and married his ex-girlfriend Kay.

The aging godfather passed on the position of family leader to Mike. After the "godfather" died, Mike began a long-simmering revenge. He sent men to assassinate the leaders of two other rival families and killed fabrizio, who murdered his ex-wife. At the same time, he also ordered someone to kill Carlo and avenge Sonny. All enemies are cut off. Connie rushed into the house because her husband was killed, tearing Mike up like crazy. Mike coldly ordered the doctor to take Connie away so that others would think that she was mentally ill. He has become a new generation of "godfather"-Mike Don Corleone.

Godfather's wonderful dialogue

"Never let your enemy know what you think"

"Never hate your enemy, it will affect your judgment".

"You can't refuse our offer, either your signature or leaving your brains in this contract."

"I'm going to make him an offer that he can't refuse."

"I spent my whole life trying not to be very careless. Women and children can be careless, but men can't. "

"One day-maybe this day will never come, I will ask you to do something for me. But before that day comes, please accept justice at my daughter's wedding, which is also a gift from me! "

"A person has only one fate."

"The enemy should get closer to him"

Note: Cecio and kleiman Sha, two characters in Godfather I who were allowed to stand on their own feet after the Corleone family moved westward, were the leaders of the Corleone family who originally controlled the forces of the Corps, and also two characters in Godfather II who were with Vito Corleone in the memory clips. That is, discuss with Vito Corleone to avoid Fannoci's blackmail. Later, Cecil's rebellion was removed by Mike.

Synopsis

In Sicily, Vito's father and brother were all killed by Don Giorgio, the local mafia leader. Under the cover of his mother's death, Vito was able to escape and came to America. This was already in 191. The second generation godfather recalled his father's youth and felt deeply the hardships of starting a business.

Mike and his wife Kay held communion ceremony and celebration for their son Tony. But that night, Mike was attacked. Fortunately, no one was hurt. Faced with all kinds of difficulties after taking over the family, Mike recalled the "struggle" course of his father Don Vito after he came to America.

Mike takes revenge step by step. At the same time, he is constantly expanding his family's power. Through infighting with Senator Jill, Mike finally took control of another big hotel and started gambling business. Just as Michael was expanding his family's power, a gangster named Haimen Ross broke in and tried to occupy Mike's territory. The two sides fought in secret. Michael was not satisfied with the power he had at home, and his hand reached out to Cuba. However, the outbreak of the revolution caused a serious setback to his plan.

Ross bribed Michael's brother Fredo to provide him with information in an attempt to assassinate Mike. But Mike has also assassinated Ross. Michael disposed of Fredo with tears in his eyes, but he couldn't help recalling the happy scene between father and son.

Mike's illegal behavior caused him trouble after all. The government launched an investigation into him. Mike was accused of a series of crimes. However, with the help of politics, Mike once again turned the corner and escaped the legal sanctions.

Mike successfully dealt with the government investigation, but his wife Kay couldn't stand this life full of violence, assassination and sin any longer. She had an abortion and left Mike with tears in her eyes.

The death of his relatives and the betrayal of his elder brother deeply hit Mike. Money and power didn't bring Mike happiness. He sat alone outside his house by the lake, staring blankly into the distance ...
