Cooking New Year's Rice: Around the twentieth day of the twelfth lunar month, every household should make New Year's cakes and spread Huang Er. On this day, every household rummages, sweeps the kiln, paints the walls and washes the furniture, and all the old things must be cleared out of the house, that is, abandoning the old and welcoming the new. The number of lights is the same as the population of the whole family, so it is also called population lights. When lighting at night, plug in a cotton swab, pour a little sesame oil and light it, and put it everywhere until it goes out.
