Cooking New Year's Rice: Around the twentieth day of the twelfth lunar month, every household should make New Year's cakes and spread Huang Er. On the 25th, 26th and 29th of the twelfth lunar month, the three spirits are raw bean sprouts, Qian Qian mud (soybeans are mashed or pickled with water and then crushed to cook porridge), fried oil residue (fried flaxseed or rapeseed is ground into flour to cook oil residue rice), ordered tofu, jujube cards, steamed snacks, fried oil fruits, cooked meat, etc. Every rural household should make one or two pots of tofu, each pot is about 20 kg. Snacks of fifty or sixty dollars should also be steamed.

Cleaning: "On the 24th of the twelfth lunar month, clean the boiler room". On this day, every household rummages, sweeps the kiln, paints the walls and washes the furniture, and all the old things must be cleared out of the house, that is, abandoning the old and welcoming the new. Then stick grilles paper, cut window grilles, put up New Year pictures and hang mirrors to make the interior look brand-new.

Respect for God: On the 23rd day of the twelfth lunar month, "Send Grandpa Kitchen Horse to heaven". On this night, people will burn high incense in front of the pot and the kiln, offer snacks and knock on three heads, asking the gods to "speak well in heaven and go back to the palace for good luck."

Go to the grave to worship ancestors: On the morning of New Year's Eve, men will go to the grave to worship ancestors. Before leaving, stick a few small paper bags, pack some rice, oil and salt, bring snacks, wine containers and hemp paper, and burn paper in front of the ancestral grave to pay homage.

On the fifth day of the first month, every household gets up early in the morning, cleans up the dust and pollution in the room, piles it outside the door, and blows it up with a cannon, indicating that they are poor in food, drink, shelter, clothing, materials and expenses.

Lantern Festival: After the Spring Festival, there are three Lantern Festivals on the 15th day of the first month and the 2nd day of February. When making rice cakes in the twelfth lunar month last year, we should leave a cake lump. On the fifteenth day of the first month, several fist-sized lamps should be pinched with cake lumps. The number of lights is the same as the population of the whole family, so it is also called population lights. When lighting at night, plug in a cotton swab, pour a little sesame oil and light it, and put it everywhere until it goes out. The traditional folk arts in loufan county include dry boats, cage lanterns, stilts, majestic gongs and drums, paper-cutting, dough figurines, lanterns, fireworks, firecrackers and yangko.
