How to start preparing equipment as a freelance photographer?

When you are ready to work hard in this direction, then you can read the next article. The following are very specific preparation details. In this section, I will share the equipment preparation work.

1 fuselage

First of all, the trend of SLR cameras is getting cheaper and cheaper, with the popularity of computers in those years, from the professional market to the consumer market. Many people are struggling with which brand to choose when they buy machines for the first time, Canon, Nikon or Sony. In fact, there is not much difference now, but the imaging styles of each family are a little different. For example, Canon is more realistic, Nikon is sharper and more colorful. I don't know what Sony's imaging style is, and I don't have a special feeling. I have my own advantages in some small details. For example, Canon's white balance is accurate, and I prefer his color style. Nikon's original color film is very bright, but the indoor skin color performance is not as good as Canon's. Sometimes I think it's a little too sharp, but Nikon's focusing system is better than Canon's, and Canon has advantages in high-definition video and lens group. So each has its own strengths, and both brands have many users.

So simply speaking, the choice is the feeling at first sight, and then which brand is used by friends around you, because you can exchange experiences with each other and play different lenses, and you can learn a lot soon.

My own choice is Canon, but after reading many photos taken abroad, I found that children photographers and wedding photographers abroad use Canon 5d2 very much, such as 5d2+24-70 for barb in jinkyart, 5D2+24-70 for petamazey in New Zealand and 85mm for leah.

F/ 1.2 also often uses 24-70, which is 5d2+50mm used by American wedding photographer jasminestar.

2 Before the lens, I said that when the light is good, the imaging difference caused by the fuselage is relatively small, but the difference caused by the lens is very large. If only one lens is recommended, it will always be 50 mm

F/ 1.4, this kind of fixed-focus lens can exercise the lens sense, and it is cheap and has excellent imaging. Many high-end zoom lenses can't match! The aperture is also large enough to create a dreamy blur effect. Because the 50mm fixed focus technology is very mature, the price can be very low.

If only one zoom head is recommended, I still recommend only 24-70.

This is the most widely used focal segment, which has been mentioned in the last article, so I won't say much.

3 reflector

I have a mirror, but I seldom use it now. In fact, it can be used completely, but what we need is to master the skills of light and be able to keenly analyze whether light is suitable for shooting. The advantage of having a reflector is that the shooting freedom is relatively high, and the disadvantage is that the mobility is relatively poor. Do you think the fleeting expressions of children may be waiting for you to slowly adjust the reflector? But you can consider having a very flexible assistant, but what I want to say is that you can do without a reflector. Any shooting by jinkyart, Australia's top child photographer, has no negatives and lights. I talked to renee in America, and she doesn't use reflectors either. Europe and America have developed a mature method of shooting in pure natural light, which is called nature.

Ray photography 4 flash

As mentioned above, the flash is not necessary, but it is actually very useful indoors, especially in families in China, such as general studio lights. Or Canon's 580,430, Nikon's sB800 and other overhead flashlights are relatively small, but it is best not to face them directly when using them. It is best to play off-line flash or jump flash, so that the light will be soft and the imaging will be natural. But I don't have these lights. I only have a sun lamp.

But I don't need it now. When shooting indoors, I will communicate carefully before shooting indoors.

Well, if I make a specific recommendation, I think Nikon d90, d300 and d700 are all good, and Canon 550d, 50d, 7d and 5d2 are all good. If the budget is limited, I suggest buying a relatively inferior fuselage with a good lens. This is a good match.
