The Commercial Press, People's Publishing House and many other publishing enterprises in China brought more than 2,000 books with more than 30,000 volumes, and 26 China writers also attended the salon. During the salon, they held 15 reports and 38 readers' meetings. In addition, before the salon, French publishing houses translated more than 70 kinds of China books and introduced them to French readers. French President Herak and Chinese Ambassador to France visited the China booth. The Ambassador to China also presented Herak with a 30-volume Li Hanlin engraving and a set of seals with Herak's Chinese and French names respectively.
