Replaced 5 RVs in 4 years - my experience of playing with RVs, converting RVs, and replacing RVs in these years

Hello everyone, I am Brother Dao of Secret RV Travel. I am very happy to meet you here for the first time and share with you my experience in RVing over the years. I hope it can bring benefits to those who like RVs and travel. A little inspiration from you and as few detours as possible.

I was born in the 1970s. I have been an automotive electrician for nearly 30 years since I became an apprentice in 1990. I opened an auto repair shop by myself in Shawan District, Leshan City. More than ten years ago, because I loved traveling, I met a group of outdoor friends and often organized and participated in various outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain climbing, traveling, camping, self-driving tours, etc.

Often wandering around the mountains and rivers of Western Sichuan, Tibet, Yunnan and Qinghai. In order to record every detail of the journey, I also like photography and studied under the famous photography lecturer Wang Ji Feixia. Although I am not good at learning, I still leave some works that I can appreciate.

Because I often travel by car, I was recommended by a friend to participate in the filming of the Sichuan TV tourism promotional video 318 Diary and starred in the film as a successful middle-aged man named "Lao Dao". Interested friends can check out my video some time ago. . Later, I also participated in the filming of another promotional video for Winter Tour in Sichuan. This time I only participated as a staff member and did not appear in the camera. However, these two experiences greatly enriched my life.

Due to outdoor self-driving camping for a long time, my family bought four large and small tents in a few years. They go camping many times every year, and in the process, the idea of ??purchasing one gradually came to mind. The idea of ??an RV finally came true at the end of 2015. My first RV was a Jiangling Coaster RV, a B-type minivan. Talking about my car buying experience is also very comical, because I like off-roading, and I joined the "Off-road E-Clan", the largest off-road organization in China, Sichuan Brigade No. 187, and I have always used four-wheel drive SUVs, so I was choosing When buying a RV, the first thing I considered was a four-wheel drive model. After doing a lot of research, I finally decided to buy the dmax RV from JMC RV. In early December 2015, after contacting the manufacturer, I finally placed an order at a dealer in Chongqing. car and agreed to deliver it by the end of the year. While waiting, I participated in the filming of a winter tour in Sichuan. The crew had a Jiangling Coaster minibus. After communicating with the driver, Master Zhang, I also considered that the space of the Jiangling Dmax was too small. After careful consideration, I contacted the dealer. After negotiation, I changed the order to a JMC Coaster RV of the same brand, and picked up the car at the end of the year. I completed the procedures and got the license plate before the Spring Festival, and officially started my RV life.

This is my first time using an RV, and I haven’t passed the excitement stage yet. During the use, I discovered that my RV seemed to have some shortcomings. As an auto repair technician, I was definitely not willing to give in, so I made sound insulation, changed the seats, changed the water tank, added a battery, changed the windows, etc. After a series of troubles, this car has been used for more than a year, and it has traveled to Thailand, Tibet, etc. I traveled more than 30,000 kilometers in many places such as western Sichuan, but I was still tortured by some minor problems. In addition, I always had the four-wheel drive plot in my heart, so I had the idea of ??changing hands. By chance, I saw a second-hand Karen Binwei four-wheel drive pickup truck on the Internet, so I went to Zigong to pick up the car. After cleaning it up, I listed my Coaster for sale online.

Buying and selling second-hand RVs really depends on fate. Shortly after the sale information was posted online, Wang Wei from Henan contacted me and we quickly discussed the transaction price and handover matters. It should be said that he and I are both impatient people and don't like procrastination in doing things. I also informed him of the actual usage and problems encountered, and he also accepted it. After completing the formalities, he drove back to Henan and soon began traveling around the country. He contacted me some time ago and he also planned to sell it. I also helped him post the sale information. It has been sold and the mileage is more than 90,000.

My second RV has started to use. With four-wheel drive, I can go to more remote areas for fun. I have also upgraded this car with lithium batteries, negative value wheels, hot water, etc., but Due to time constraints, I didn’t travel many long distances with this car, mostly around Leshan, and the RV circle around me gradually formed. Everyone basically traveled around, had gatherings, talked about RVs, modifications and upgrades, campsites, etc. Time passed in the second half of 2017. After repeated consideration, I decided to give up my original car repair business and planned to engage in RV sales while playing with RVs. After a series of efforts, I successfully signed a contract as a dealer of Lanzhong RV in 2018. The series of models of Lanzhong RV will be officially sold starting from January.

Starting a business is not easy and is full of problems. Even though my RV is always in tip-top shape, I have very little time to travel. So, I once again planned to sell the RV in my hand. After being introduced by a car friend, Brother Xiao from Mianyang bought it. Although my wife and I were a little reluctant to part with it, it would be a good choice to find someone who likes it.

But soon after the car was sold, I found that my life could no longer be separated from the RV, and I felt empty inside. So, I found my third RV, a 2016 Lanzhong C7a from Chongqing. It was silver. The original owner was also a car lover. It only ran more than 10,000 kilometers in two years. The interior and exterior were in very new condition. After I got this car, I went to Guizhou twice in July and August. One was to participate in Teacher Tang Weimin’s Good Dog Traveling Around the World event, and the latter time was to organize an event for car friends. We had 5 RVs in one trip. Go to Liupanshui to escape the heat.

During this period, all necessary water and electricity upgrades were also done, and lithium batteries, solar energy, hot water systems, etc. were installed in the Sunshine Courtyard. During the Spring Festival of that year, several of our car friends went to Yunnan together for more than a month, and the experience was very good.

In a blink of an eye, one day in April 2019, I was gathering with a few RV friends at the Crystal Plaza in Emeishan. One of my clients contacted me, and he planned to transfer a Lanzhong c7a he purchased from me in August 2018. This was also because he was starting a new business and had no time to play. This car is also in very good condition, with about 20,000 kilometers on it. The configuration is similar to mine, but it has National V emissions, while mine has National IV emissions, so I decided to keep this car and sell the National IV emission car in my hand.

With a strong circle of friends, less than an hour after I posted the information, Xiao Huang from Jiangxi contacted me and quickly decided to buy it. It took less than an hour from me posting the information to him paying the deposit. A few days later, he came to Leshan, inspected the car, picked up the gear, and transferred the ownership in one go.

I started using my 4th RV, a white Lanzhong c7a that was only 8 months old. The original owner did a complete set of upgrades and modifications in the Sunshine RV Yard. In addition, I am very familiar with this car. , This car is very easy to use. I went to Lugu Lake successively, ran from Lugu Lake to Muli, and along the Dawa Mountain-Jiaoding Mountain line, and spent most of the time playing outside.

The time has arrived at the end of June 2019. Since the national emission restriction date is approaching, and my company’s existing Juwei 4600 has not been sold, I am worried that it will not be able to get the license plate due to restrictions, so I decided to list this car. Keep it for your own use. There has been a lot of demand for the Lanzhong C7a, and second-hand C7s are even more difficult to find. I plan to sell this one before the new C7 with National VI emissions comes on the market. In addition, I plan to drive to Xinjiang in July. The 4600 is better than the C7a in terms of space, so I plan to drive this Ford-chassis Ares 4600 to Xinjiang.

After getting the license plate and making some modifications, our trip to Xinjiang started on July 15th. The Lanzhong c7 that I have been using for more than 3 months stopped quietly. On the show floor, the next owner has yet to be found. As a result, on the second day after I left home, I once had the idea of ????going home and switching to a C7 to run in Xinjiang. In the end, I gave up considering that the distance was too far. Due to usage habits and unfamiliarity with the car model, my experience of using the RV during my trip to Xinjiang was not good. On July 25, the tenth day of my trip to Xinjiang, this C7 also found its new owner. In fact, I was very reluctant to part with it, but I had no choice but to sell it without me. Yes, my partner assisted in the transfer procedures. And this is my fifth RV trip.

The above is the process of buying my fifth RV in the past four years or so. To sum up: among the five cars, the two Lanzhong C7s have the best user experience. Regardless of country four or country five, all functions and configurations are very easy to use and the satisfaction is the highest. The most dissatisfied thing is the first JMC Coaster. Maybe I just bought a RV, and many things are still in the exploratory stage. The total cost before and after is more than 600,000. The few second-hand RVs in the process did not make much loss, but the depreciation of the new car was too much. At present, I still use Juwei’s 4600. Of course, I also represent their car, which can be regarded as a test drive.

Due to my low cultural level, my writing is a bit clumsy. Thank you for sticking to the end of the article!
