Summary stage

1 year March. On 20 10, the organizer and participating libraries summarized the experience of reading year and reported it to China Library Association and Ministry of Culture.

2.20 10 April, the organizer and participating pavilions wrote papers on typical cases and related topics, and recommended them to relevant departments for selection of scientific research academic achievements. The results of the sixth national reading survey show that the reading rate of minors under the age of 18 is 8 1.4%, and the reading rate of children aged 9- 13 is 93.5%, which is much higher than that of adults who study.

The present situation of children's extracurricular reading in China is not ideal, the time of extracurricular reading is often not guaranteed, and the content is often chaotic. These problems are related to the reading rate of parents to a considerable extent.

There are two most common situations in real life.

One is that many children are eager to read according to their inner call, and they will try their best to read the books they want to read; Some parents are very opposed to their extracurricular reading, thinking that reading those idle books wastes time, distracts energy and affects academic performance.

In order to make their children more promising than themselves, these parents often consciously become advocates and practitioners of exam-oriented education, unconsciously deprive their children of the right to read after class, and delay the good opportunity to cultivate reading habits in childhood. They don't realize how important books are to children. A good book can change their lives and affect their feelings and views on things. "Good children's literature can not only bring fun, but also stimulate children's imagination and enhance their understanding of the world around them and people." ([America] Fortman: Changing Children's Life) Many children know the gist, but many parents may not understand this truth.

The second situation is to choose books to test parents' reading ability and judgment on books. Some parents have gained special sensitivity and confidence in the required bibliography after long-term reading accumulation. They are generally not tempted by various book advertisements, and the recommendation of experts is for reference only. They often communicate with children about what books they read and what books they want to read. Therefore, they are more confident in choosing books for their children, and their children's satisfaction and trust in their parents are also higher.

There are also some parents who don't like reading and don't know much about what books their children should read at different ages. They tend to be at a loss when choosing books for their children, either following their interests, or following the recommendation of experts or teachers, or following the exaggerated sales promotion of advertisements. Strictly speaking, such parents are not qualified to choose books for their children, and even if they choose to publish books, they are not reliable at all.

The amount of reading will directly affect the influence and edification on children, and more directly affect all kinds of help and enlightenment provided to children, which is the key driving force for children to cultivate good reading habits. I hope those parents who are not used to reading can also take action and make use of the opportunity of "National Children's Reading Year" to make a reading plan for themselves, so that they can study and improve together with their children, and then they will naturally be more confident and comfortable when choosing books. I. Purpose To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC) and cultivate good reading habits of more than 300 million children in China, library society of china planned and launched the National Children's Reading Year, aiming at implementing the spirit of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on strengthening ideological and moral education for minors, implementing the outline of the national scientific literacy action plan, improving children's scientific and cultural quality, and providing services for safeguarding the basic cultural rights and interests of left-behind children in rural areas and children of migrant workers.
