Master Hanshan's most famous Zen poem is Self-Joy and Harmony.

Data expansion:

Hanshan was a famous poet and monk during the Zhenguan period in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. He once lived in a cold cave in Tiantai Mountain, so he was called Hanshanzi by later generations. Hanshan likes to compose poems, and when the inspiration comes, it is engraved on the bamboo and stone rooms and walls of the village villa. His works are simple but full of Zen. This poem describes the author's Zen life.

The main idea of the poem is: Hanshan pursues self-enjoyment all his life and often wanders freely between Luo Yan and the caves. Accompanied by Baiyun, the poet is carefree, while Shan Ye indulges in broadmindedness. There is a road in the mountains, but it does not lead to the mortal world; Without heart and desire, there is nothing worth climbing. Sitting alone on the stone bed in the clear night, enjoying the moon alone and climbing the East Mountain of Gufeng.

The first two sentences come straight to the point and always lead the whole poem, pointing out the author's lifestyle and leisure, instead of running around in the mundane world and wandering between the caves of smoke and roses. Three or four sentences express the feelings of the poet and monk Shan Ye. When he has nothing to do, he looks at the white clouds in the sky and his mood is as leisurely as clouds.

The green radish in the fog and the cave hidden by trees are a good environment for the growth of Zen. Although the poet's temperament is bohemian and informal, he will not be discussed by others, and his heart is full of white clouds. The white clouds are pure and flawless, rolling freely, which is the externalization of the Zen master's pure heart without any obstacles.
