Why do you say that Fukuda is a "big mouth" and what is Fukuda's character?

First of all, in terms of personality, Tian Yuan is an untrustworthy "big mouth". Jonathan Pascher, the author of Broken Arrow: The Unknown Story of the Battle of Midway Island, confirmed after combing a lot of historical materials and books that Tian Yuan was full of lies in the process of writing books after the war. For example, he once said in the book "God's Warrior: the Chief Pilot of Pearl Harbor" that the fuel tank of Pearl Harbor was originally the main target of the third attack by Japanese carrier aircraft, and he expressed anger at Nan Yunzhong's announcement to stop attacking and retreat.

But in fact, according to the implementation order of the Japanese ground attack at that time, the key targets should be warships and port facilities, and oil tanks may not be on the list, which is in line with the Japanese army's neglect of logistics. More importantly, Hirota personally said in his memoirs that there was no case of being angry because the officer did not attack the oil tank. In addition, when he was questioned by Americans after the war, he also said that he was quite satisfied with the results of the Pearl Harbor operation and made no mention of the so-called oil tank attack.

Another lie that is relatively easy to verify is that when Japan signed the surrender, he claimed to be on the Missouri. Stuart Shadrick Murray, the captain of the Missouri at that time, might have something to say about it. The captain who later became vice admiral recalled that only photographers were allowed to board the Missouri during the ceremony. Although it is not sure whether it is one or two, it is certain that he (or they) is assigned to stay under the 40mm turret on the starboard side of the warship, and each photographer is assigned a "personal guard" of an American Marine, "put his (or their) hand tightly on his (or their) thigh and pull him (or them) to stop him from wandering around." Of course, there is no deep field. If he can board the ship, his standing posture and name will definitely be recorded and closely monitored.

Then look at his level at that time. In 1934, the Japanese issued the order to design and build the "Yamato" battleship (generally called "new battleship" at that time). It was not until 1936 that Hirota was promoted to Shaozuo, but according to the current standards, he was only a professional officer with superb flying skills and could not touch the core secrets of the navy (even if he heard the wind that a new battleship was being built in the whole design and construction process, it might be a rumor in a small circle, which could not be confirmed.

In addition, Pastoral only stayed in the Naval University for a short period of one year (from 1936 to 12 to 1937). During this period, even the later Yamato manufacturer Nagasaki Shipyard only knew that the Navy intended to build a "super-large battleship". As a student of Shanghai University, it is impossible for Tian Yuan to master more detailed information.

That is to say, Hirota may have heard of the news that the Japanese navy will build a large battleship before the war (just like there are always rumors before a new type of equipment comes out today), but it is impossible to know its name. There may have been a debate about the superiority of battleships and aircraft carriers in naval universities, but it is impossible to name the "Yamato".

The pastoral view is nothing more than trying to shape a perfect self and show how powerful and intelligent he is. And many of his statements can't be proved at all, because few naval officers (especially pilots) can live to see the end of the war (it is said that among the 70 officers who took off from the aircraft carrier that attacked Pearl Harbor, only Tian Yuan lived to see the end of the war).
