Historical evolution of Wangcheng

Jingchu, the hometown of Wangcheng, set up counties in Qin and Han Dynasties. After the Three Kingdoms, Jin, Sui, Tang and Five Dynasties, it was under the jurisdiction of Changsha County, Changsha Kingdom and Changsha County. By the Song and Yuan Dynasties (1098), the county had experienced Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and belonged to Changsha and Hua Shan counties.

1959 abolished Wangcheng County and merged into Changsha County, 1977 restored the organizational system of Wangcheng County. Now it belongs to Changsha city. County People's Government in Chengguan Town. It is 26 kilometers away from Changsha, the provincial capital. It has jurisdiction over 6 towns and 30 townships including Chengguan, T-shaped, Tongguan, Jinggang, Qiaokou and Pingtang, 25 neighborhood committees and 45 1 village committee.

In 2000, Wangcheng County administered 15 towns and 4 townships. The total population is 686,349.

In 2006, Changsha anzhen hospital, the affiliated hospital of Elizabeth Medical College, came to an end. It is the only designated medical institution in Wangcheng.

In 2008, four towns under the jurisdiction of Wangcheng County, namely Puzhen, Lianhua Town, Pingtang Town and Yuchangping Town, were merged into Yuelu District.

On June 20 1 1, Wangcheng District of Changsha City was revoked by Wangcheng County of Hunan Province.

On June 20 12, with the approval of the provincial civil affairs department, Gaotangling Town, Xingcheng Town, Huangjin Town and Dingzi Town in Wangcheng District of Changsha City were abolished, and four sub-district offices were established, namely Gaotangling Street, Xingcheng Street, Huangjin Street and Dingzi Street. After the adjustment of administrative divisions, Wangcheng District governs four streets, 10 town and 1 township.

In August of 20 12, with the approval of Changsha Civil Affairs Bureau, Gaotangling Street, Xingcheng Street, Huangjin Street and Dingzi Street in Wangcheng District of Changsha City were abolished, and ten sub-district offices were established respectively, namely Gaotangling Street, Yujiapo Street, Baishazhou Street, osawa Lake Street, Moon Island Street, Huangjinyuan Street, Liaojiaping Street, Jinshanqiao Street, Wan Ding Street and so on.

2015165438+16 October, the 23rd meeting of the Standing Committee of the First People's Congress of Wangcheng District listened to and deliberated the proposal of the district government on the proposal for the adjustment and reform of township divisions. The meeting decided to agree to the plan of the district government on the adjustment and reform of township division: Wangcheng District will merge the existing 1 1 towns into five, reducing six towns.

According to the plan: keep Bairuopu Town and Qiaoyi Town; Wushan Town and Yujiapo Street merged into Wu Shan Street; Leifeng Town and Liaojiaping Street merged into Leifeng Street; Keep Qiaokou Town, Jinggang Town and Getang Town merged into Jinggang Town, and Xinkang Township and Gaotangling Street merged into Gaotangling Street; Chating Town and Dongcheng Town merged into Chating Town; Tongguan Town and Shutangshan Street were merged into Tongguan Street, Wushan in Shenjiaqiao Community of Dongcheng Town was placed under Huacheng Village of Tongguan, and Guoliang Village of Chating Town was placed under Tongguan. After the merger, the township government and sub-district offices are located in the named original towns and sub-district offices.
