The bag lion dance of Yao nationality is a unique prop dance, and it is a comprehensive art form that combines singing, dancing and pleasure, which was produced by Yao ancestors in Sanshui Yao Township of Lianzhou City during thousands of years of long-distance migration.

In 2005, at the first Lianzhou International Photography Exhibition, the mysterious and quaint wooden lion with a cloth bag was performed for the first time in front of domestic and foreign tourists, which attracted extensive media attention. It is called "the living fossil of the history of the Yao nationality in Lianzhou" because it condenses the history, culture and customs of the local Yao nationality.
