How to change the shooting angle

How to change the shooting angle I'm talking about here is not holding the camera around the model, nor looking for an angle that can make the other person beautiful or thin, but the angle formed by taking the model's eyes as the axis and the camera's line of sight to the eyes and the horizon. For most people, people usually take pictures from a normal human perspective, that is, stand upright or slightly bend, trying to make the camera lens and the model's line of sight on a horizontal line to shoot people. The theoretical explanation in the photography textbook is that the camera lens should be shot parallel to the abdomen or waist of the person, because it can record the standard proportion of the person. Therefore, many photographers who shoot in the shed will sit in the chair when taking full-body makeup photos, so that people will not be deformed.

These statements are correct, but it will be more interesting to try some non-habitual perspectives, and you will see many effects that others can't see. In fact, in actual operation, the choice of shooting angle is very arbitrary, and there is no need to follow the book. Only by trying more angles can we show more personality, which is also the embodiment of young people's open thinking in playing photography. The most commonly used shooting angle is nothing more than vertical flat shooting, in addition to the different perspectives brought by high angle and low angle.

Needless to say, vertical panning is the difference between the vertical position of the photographer and the subject for high and low angular positions. Photographers can use the shooting environment to adjust the height of the plane, and they can also let models climb up or down. As far as low-angle shooting is concerned, while reducing the height of the camera, the lower the position, the more special the viewing angle. There are also differences in details, that is, whether the camera position is up or down when it is lowered. Similarly, when the height is lowered, the line of sight from the lens to the model forms a negative angle with the horizontal line when shooting back.

In other words, when the camera is lower than the height of a person's head, the lens tilts upward. When necessary, photographers can try to lie on the ground and shoot upside down. The simplest example of low-angle flat shooting is to shoot the camera flat on the ground, which will increase the proportion of the ground in the picture, so we should choose and try it according to local conditions.

This was taken when the card machine was placed on the ground while waiting for the bus in Tokyo subway. The ground was elongated, reflecting a feeling of journey.

This work was shot near Mingde Building of Renmin University of China. The girl stood on the platform, and I stood in a low position to shoot back. This shooting is also about shooting the whole building and putting the characters into the scene completely.

This was taken when I was lying on the ground and let the boy jump over me. I like to try different angles, which is very interesting.

The girl's position in the photo will be about 1 m higher than mine. When taking pictures, I will cut off the stone pier I stepped on, and I will also take into account the moment when the plane passes overhead. Shooting at this angle will make people look closer to the plane.

This is a backlit photo of the boy climbing directly onto the beam and me standing on the ground. Sometimes we can adjust the vertical distance between the photographer and the subject according to the terrain environment of the shooting location and find some different angles to shoot.

There are many books about portrait photography, and there will be many introductions on the Internet. Especially after entering the photography forum or joining the QQ group of photography, the discussion about portrait photography is more about which camera and lens to use to shoot better quality and more dazzling portraits in Jiao Wai; What focal length is most suitable for portrait shooting, and how to adjust the parameters to make the exposure more accurate. It seems to add a lot of standards to portrait photography. But people's ideas are diverse. If you have decided what to shoot and what to reflect, there is no need to be disturbed by these rules. Such as overexposure or underexposure, glare and ghost, wide angle and fisheye, etc. These are not the point. Try to break through the limitations of some traditional dogmas in order to shoot your own portrait.

For the focal length, the book says that the best focal length is 85 ~ 135 mm, so the perspective distortion will be smaller, which basically reduces the proportion of characters. So there will really be photographers, and they will identify these focus clips to shoot people. In fact, each focal segment has its own visual characteristics when shooting people, and rational use can make your portrait photos colorful. Taking a portrait with a wide-angle lens can take into account the background. If you use it well, you can shoot momentum. In addition, if used properly, people can be photographed more slender. Shooting portraits at close range with fisheye glasses will have the effect of a mirror and increase the interest of the photos; Taking a portrait with a long focal length, whether it is half-length or full-length, can blur the background to a certain extent, and the picture looks cleaner, but the weight is heavier.

For equipment, there is nothing wrong with setting Jiao Da aperture lens, and a full-frame camera can improve the image quality. If the requirements for texture and color atmosphere are high, you can consider high-quality film machines and films. In a word, the device has a good auxiliary function for image quality and color representation, as well as Jiao Wai's rendering. For portrait shooting, photographers can always, right? Poisoning? Go down. But from another angle, if we put the pursuit of portrait photography on the content itself, we can get rid of the shackles of equipment and focus more on the performance of characters, shooting angles, composition or the theme of photos, so as not to become slaves of equipment.

As for parameter skills, the book says: a person's face should be measured by spot metering to ensure accurate facial exposure; Use flash or reflector when shooting backlight; Use manual mode; Make sure your eyes are bright; Be careful of the maximum aperture, there is no doubt about it. But if you shoot people according to these requirements, you will inevitably stick to the rules. Take the matter of accurate photometry, some high-profile films can highlight the fresh style when exposed in a large area, and it is not necessary to take a clear picture of people's faces when shooting in backlight. Moreover, the picture seen under the condition of human eye sight does not meet the theoretical standard of photography, but it is also a way to follow the truth to shoot what you see.

This was taken with a card machine. Putting people in a landscape, the card machine can also do it.

After taking photos of Meiying in Hokkaido, everyone rode their bicycles back before sunset. While riding, I took photos of this sweet couple with a card machine. Although it's a tidbit, I still like it. And it is also very convenient to shoot with one hand when riding a bicycle.

I didn't plan to shoot at the concert, so I only brought a small card machine. The dark field light is beautiful, so the camera is set to black and white mode to get rid of the messy light, reduce the exposure compensation as much as possible, and adjust the digital zoom to shoot.

The lighting at the concert was very beautiful, so I tried to shoot in black and white mode with the card machine in my hand, sacrificing limited image quality, increasing sensitivity, shortening focal length and reducing exposure compensation shooting. Mainly because I like this feeling and artistic conception too much.

I like the lighting when playing and singing quietly at the concert, so I used the black-and-white mode of the card machine in my hand to shoot, minimizing the exposure compensation and leaving only the main light and characters.

It is said that wide-angle lenses are not suitable for portraits, but they also vary from person to person. It can distort the Hall of Prayer for the New Year and make two people slim. As long as you feel good, there is nothing you can't try.

Judging from the parameters of photos, indoor shooting should use lighting, low sensitivity and small aperture, but in order to take photos that you like according to local conditions, you don't have to follow the script. High sensitivity can solve the light problem, large aperture can solve the artistic conception problem brought by depth of field, and it is enough to still take touching photos.

Judging from the photos and parameters, there are also many places that violate traditional habits. For example, the face of a character is not full of light; People have to shrink a few apertures when shooting at a distance. But my idea at that time was, because the background is brighter than the foreground, the environment in which the characters live is backlit, and the faces of the characters can't be seen clearly with the naked eye, so you don't have to deliberately fill the light, just record it truthfully. Regarding the aperture, I need a shallow depth of field to create an atmosphere and produce dark corners. There is no need to use a small aperture to improve focusing accuracy and image quality. Different ideas, different methods, no right or wrong.

This photo was taken in the shed, but not in the traditional way. Instead, turn on the weak light, the light hits the face of the character, then shoot with a camera with high sensitivity and large aperture, and then carry out black and white processing later. The depth of field is very shallow, and it is also convenient to capture the emotions of the characters.

Similarly, I took a group of photos.

Many people think that taking pictures of children should be cheerful and full of colors, which is still bound by traditional concepts. Sometimes it's fun to try some breakthroughs. I like to film children's emotions, crying or sadness, and I can also see small emotions belonging to children from their eyes.

This is a photo of virtual focus, which should be abandoned by reason, but I still like it so far. The expression of the characters is only blurred because of defocus. In fact, when we are watching a lot of portrait photography, it is not uncommon to see virtual focus. More and more photographers are paying more and more attention to their feelings, rather than being limited to traditional photography.
