How can I see the photos taken by others through photos?

I see, what you said is to check the EXIF information of digital photos. Let me introduce four viewing methods.

1. Take a cursory look with notepad.

First of all, introduce the most stupid and simple method. Open digital photos in JPG format directly with Notepad (just select Notepad program from Open Mode). What do you see? Just a bunch of messy characters. Don't worry, please look at the parts marked by the author in the picture, namely "BenQDC 1500" and "2004:04:08 16:42:33". These are Exif information that can be read directly with Notepad. From this, we can easily see that the brand of the digital camera that took this photo is BenQ, the specific model is DC 1500, and the specific shooting time is "2004:04:08 16:42:33".

2. View under WindowsXP

As we all know, WindowsXP system has very good support characteristics for digital photos. We can not only view digital photos through its own Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, but also view some Exif information of digital photos directly in its folder window.

The specific operation is as follows: first, open the folder containing digital photos, select "Details" in the viewing menu, then click the "Details" item column with the right mouse button, and select items related to digital photos, such as "Camera Model" in the pop-up item display menu. In this way, we can view some Exif information of digital photos directly from the folder window of WindowsXP.

However, what you see in this way is only a part of Exif information. If you want to view the complete Exif information of a single digital photo, you can do the following: right-click the photo file and select Properties, switch from the pop-up Photo Properties dialog box to the Summary tab, and then click the Advanced button. How's it going? Do you see it?

3. Use professional software ACDSee for inspection.

Although using the above two methods to view Exif information is fast, it is not complete enough, especially using notepad to view it is too rough. Below I will introduce the professional Exif information viewing software. In fact, many manufacturers of digital cameras have their own software that can read Exif information, such as ExifViewer for Fuji cameras and NikonView for Nikon cameras, but not many people use it.

The most commonly used Exif information viewing software is ACDSEE (version 3.1above), because it is a necessary software for almost every computer. It is very convenient to view Exif information while looking at digital photos! The specific operation is: first open a digital photo with ACDSee, click the right mouse button on it, open the "Properties" dialog box, switch to the "Metadata" tab, and you can see very detailed Exif information.

4. Check it by installing plug-ins in IE.

For DC (digital camera) enthusiasts, when they see a beautiful digital photo on the Internet, they definitely want to know the camera model, exposure value, focal length and other specific parameters used by photographers. The general practice is to download and save these digital photos to the hard disk, and then use professional software such as ACDSee to view Exif information. Because the process of downloading or saving is essential, the operation is a bit troublesome.

After installing the ExifShow plug-in, when we browse digital photos in IE, we just need to click the right mouse button and the option of "View Exif information" will appear in the shortcut menu. If the photo contains Exif information, click this option (or press the shortcut key V) to open the dialog box as shown in the figure below. Click the right mouse button in the information list to copy the selected EXIF information to the clipboard or save it as a text file.

If some digital photos show that "the picture has no EXIF information", it means that the EXIF data may be lost after some form of processing, or the photos were taken with a digital camera that does not support EXIF.

Tip: ExifShow plug-in needs browser support above IE5.0, and can also support right-click menu viewing of third-party browser software such as MyIE, which is very convenient.
