How many years of history does Xingcheng Ancient City have?

The ancient city of Xingcheng has a history of 587 years.

The ancient city of Xingcheng was built in the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1428 AD) as Ningyuan Acropolis. It was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty and renamed Ningyuan Prefecture City.

Ningyuan Ancient City, Xi'an Ancient City, Jingzhou Ancient City (today's Jiangling County) and Shanxi Pingyao Ancient City are listed as the four ancient cities that have been completely preserved in my country so far.

Xingcheng Ancient City, located in Xingcheng City, Liaoning Province, is the only square acropolis. The city wall has four gates in the southeast and northwest, a bell and drum tower in the center, and a semicircular urn outside the city gate. There are still forts built at the four corners for setting up Hongyi cannons.

The ancient city of Xingcheng is backed by the hills of western Liaoning and faces the Bohai Sea to the south. It occupies the throat of the central part of the western Liaoning Corridor.

It is the main transportation route from Liaodong region to the Central Plains.

In the eighth year of Shengtonghe in Liao Dynasty (990 AD), it was first called Xingcheng.

In the third year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1428 AD), the Ming Dynasty built a fortress and built a city here and named it "Ningyuan". In 1914, the name Xingcheng was re-used and is still used today.

The ancient city of Xingcheng has always been a battleground for military strategists. In the sixth year of tomorrow (1626) and the seventh year of tomorrow (1627), Ming guard Yuan Chonghuan defeated Nurhaci and the emperor with less than 20,000 troops. Tai Chi's two attacks are known in history as the "Ningyuan Victory".
