Mount Taishan sea of clouds wonders

Mount Tai stands tall on the land of Qilu, and has the reputation of "the five mountains are the only ones" in the past dynasties. It is the only famous mountain in ancient China that was closed to Zen by the emperor, and 72 kings left their marks. Literati and poets all come from different places, climbing mountains and singing in the scenery. People admire her gesture of "pulling the earth to the sky" and "holding the sun to the sky". In fact, Mount Tai is famous all over the world, not only because of its majesty, but also because of its unpredictable and mysterious fog. It's like being in a fairyland, with infinite charm, which makes people yearn for nostalgia.

The peak elevation of Mount Tai is 1.545 m, which is about 1.400 m higher than that of Taicheng, so the climate at the top of the mountain is very different from that in Tailai Plain. Mount Tai is characterized by cold wind in winter and cool, humid and rainy fog in summer, which has obvious alpine climate characteristics. The temperature at the top of the mountain is 7 ~ 8℃ lower than that at the bottom of the mountain, and the annual precipitation is about 1.5 times that in the plain area below the mountain. Due to the rise of Mount Tai, the warm and humid air flow from the plain area is blocked by Mount Tai in horizontal movement, and it is often forced to rise on the windward slope, which is easy to cool and condense to form clouds, rain and snow. On the leeward slope, the clouds quickly dissipated in the sinking. So on the way to Mount Tai, we often encounter changeable weather, such as rain, sunny, cloudy and foggy. Especially in summer, the top of Mount Tai is often foggy, and the weather changes rapidly: sometimes the mountain wind whistles and the fog is filled, such as falling into a chaotic world; Sometimes it's sunny and sunny, and the sea of clouds is boundless, such as entering the fairy mountain Qiongge; Suddenly, dark clouds are gathering, lightning flashes and thunder rumbles underground; All of a sudden, the light rain is falling, the setting sun is breaking, and the treasure is shining. These colorful and ever-changing clouds of Mount Tai seem to add a layer of mystery to the magnificent scenery of Mount Tai and make Mount Tai tourism more attractive. After visiting Mount Tai, two foreign friends came to completely opposite views. One said, "Mount Tai is famous, but there is nothing to see"; Another said, "The scenery of Mount Tai is really charming. Really live Fairy Mountain. " The reason is that the former climbs Mount Tai in clear sky and Wan Li, while the latter climbs Mount Tai in drizzle.

Among the wonders of Mount Tai's sea of clouds, the sea of clouds is the most common and spectacular. "A Brief History of Mount Tai" says: "Mountains are different from mountains in weather. It's hot in midsummer, so I can't help holding a stove. When it rains slightly, it is sunny and beautiful, and residual clouds are everywhere. Looking down, it looks like a pile of snow on land and sea. I don't know its 10 million hectares. " Mount Tai, the boundless wonder of the vast sea of clouds, is related to the special geographical environment of the surrounding plains, so it is extremely rare elsewhere. Especially when watching the sea of clouds around the Jade Emperor Peak and Bi Xia Temple, the clouds rising along the cliff are like sea waves against the magnificent ancient buildings. At this time, hearing the sound of pines, like the sound of waves coming from the array, often makes tourists feel relaxed and never want to come back. If the sea of clouds only appears at sunrise or sunset, then the sea of clouds is covered with colorful clothes under the ever-changing sunshine, making tourists feel like they are in a fairyland.

The sea of clouds on Mount Tai mostly appears in winter with stable atmospheric stratification and summer with more rain and fog. In winter, the cold air moves eastward along the northerly route, and the easterly wind continues to blow in Shandong. The moist air on the sea of Bo Huang flows back around Mount Tai with the easterly airflow, and when it meets the cold underlying surface, it will gradually condense and form a large area of low clouds. The thickness of this cloud is not large, and the height of the cloud top is often lower than1500 m. Visitors standing on the top of Mount Tai are just above the height of Yunding, so they can see the endless sea of clouds. On a clear night without wind after rain, due to intense radiation cooling, the moist air near the ground is cooled and condensed into fog, and it will become a floating low cloud after sunrise. At this time, if you stand on the top of Mount Tai, it looks like a sea of clouds.

Mount Tai is steep, the terrain is complex, and mountain winds occur from time to time. When the sea of clouds and the mountain breeze appear at the same time, sometimes you can see the "climbing clouds" and the "cloud waterfalls" falling down the slope.

The most beautiful and fascinating thing is "Bi Xia Bao Guang", also known as Taishan Buddha Guang. Most of the Buddha's light of Mount Tai appears in Daiding, that is, the narrow strip from Zhan Lu Terrace of Bixia Palace to the Nantianmen. Beautiful Buddha's light is a colorful halo formed by the sun shining on clouds or fog. Clouds and fog are all condensed by water vapor in the air. Clouds and fog are tiny water droplets. When the sun shines on the clouds, these small water droplets will refract like a prism, breaking the original white sunlight into seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple, forming the colorful halo we see. The size, displacement and clarity of Buddha's light are all related to the change of clouds. With a suitable cloud "screen", the Buddha's light will appear under certain circumstances, but it is not easy to see the spectacle. When tourists visit the top of Mount Tai, if there is dense fog in front, there will be strong sunshine behind. At this time, if you pay attention to looking ahead, you will see a colorful halo on the fog screen in front, and every move of tourists can be reflected in the halo, which is the so-called "Bao Guang". "Baoguang" is extremely difficult to see in plain areas, and Emei Mountain appears the most, so it is called "Emei Baoguang" in meteorology. The "Bao Guang" of Mount Tai often appears in the clouds around Bi Xia Temple, with Bi Xia Temple as the background, which is very spectacular, so it is called "Bao Guang of Bi Xia".

When there are water droplets with different sizes in the cloud and mist at the same time, more than two concentric rings with different sizes can be formed, which is called "multiple precious light". But the more you go to the outer ring, the less clear you are. Generally, you can only see the "Bao Guang" of single ring or double ring.

Legend has it that the Buddha's light on Mount Tai is the manifestation of Daiyue Bodhisattva, and it is necessary to attract people who are destined to go to Elysium. If mortals who climb Mount Tai can see the Buddha's light, it is very lucky. I'm so lucky. It was an early morning in autumn, and we were visiting Bi Xia Temple when we suddenly heard a group of people shouting outside: "Buddha Light!" "Buddha light!" I said, "Let's go!" I pulled my friend out of the bad door. Ah! Sure enough, a huge colorful halo appeared in front of us. Its ribbon presents seven colors of red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue and purple, which are dazzling. The outermost red halo is as dazzling as a decaying prominence. There are still figures shaking in the huge aura. This is the image of our bystanders. People are dancing with excitement, and the images in the gas field follow the activities. At that time, I was a little "stunned by the Buddha's light, flying like a fairy." At this time, white clouds drift by, the fog is dense, the gas field is sometimes hidden, sometimes thick and sometimes light, and the opening and closing is illusory.

Looking at this beautiful light ring, my eyes move slowly with the light ring. After a while, Buddha's light appeared in Baiyun Cave in front of Elephant Trunk Peak. There are more and more people climbing mountains, and even tourists who climb the worse gate in Lian Gang are rushing in without taking a rest. Men, women, old people, young people, boys and girls ... their eyes and emotions are completely attracted by the Buddha's light. People cheered and shouted with ecstasy. The clouds disappeared, so did the Buddha's light, leaving only brilliant blue sky and shining sky street. The Buddha's light lasts for about an hour from seven to eight in the morning. People wake up like spring dreams and look at the sky.

There is also a rare atmospheric optical phenomenon in Mount Tai-a mirage. Meteorology calls it a "mirage". Generally, it appears on the sea, and Penglai appears in the place closest to the sea in China, which is called "Dengzhou Haicheng". But it occasionally appears in mountainous areas, commonly known as "mountain city". In recent years, photographers and tourists have photographed the mirage of Mount Tai many times and published it in various media, which has aroused great interest from all sides.

"Mirage" is an atmospheric optical phenomenon caused by light refraction when the vertical distribution of atmospheric density is obviously different. When the upper air density is very low and the lower air density is particularly high, a "mirage" will appear. When the upper air density is high and the lower air density is particularly low, a "mirage (reflection)" appears. The density of air is related to temperature. That is, the density of hot air is low and the density of cold air is high. Therefore, when hot air is superimposed on the cold underlying surface, a "mirage" often appears; When the cold air is located on the very hot underlying surface, a "mirage" often appears. Whenever there is a sea of clouds in Mount Tai, the temperature rises slowly after sunrise because of the large water content and heat capacity in the clouds, while the dry air above the clouds rises rapidly. At this time, there was a situation similar to that in summer when the sea water was colder and the air above it was hotter. Therefore, there is a significant difference in air density between the upper and lower layers, and the atmosphere has the basic conditions for light refraction. At this time, you can see the "mountain city" on Mount Tai from a suitable angle. For example, when the sea of clouds is lower than Zhongtianmen, the image of Ole Peak has appeared above Zhongtianmen, but the "mountain city" of Mount Tai is extremely rare.

The winter climate in Mount Tai is cold, and many tourists are afraid of the cold and don't want to climb the mountain, which becomes the off-season of Mount Tai tourism in a year. In fact, Mount Tai in winter is still in the snow, which is even more distinguished. In winter, the temperature at the top of Mount Tai is often below-10 degrees. Whenever dense clouds float over the top of the mountain, the water droplets in the clouds will quickly sublimate into ice and crystals, forming white and glittering frost and snow, which is called "fog song" in meteorology. The number of foggy days in winter in inland areas of Shandong Province is about 2 ~ 5 days, and the number of foggy days in coastal areas is less than 1 day, and the chances of foggy days in the south are even less. On the other hand, the average number of foggy days at the peak of Mount Tai is as high as 56.3 days and the highest is 83 days. Whenever there is a foggy day, Mount Tai looks like a white bouquet, whether it is a pine tree or a dead branch. This is both a world of ice and a sea of flowers. In particular, southern tourists who have never seen foggy days before are lucky enough to see the crystal white winter scenery of Mount Tai, and they are all extremely surprised and scrambling to take pictures.

Most people who have been to Mount Tai want to climb mountains in sunny days and leave in a hurry when they encounter rain and fog, so all the most fascinating wonders related to rain and fog, such as the sea of clouds, Bixia Baoguang, mirage, Wusong ice flower and Tianmen Waterfall, have been missed by tourists. The only impression left is "too many people" and "too tired to climb the mountain".

Excuse me, my friend, have you seen Yao Nai's Climbing Mount Tai and Li Jianwu's Climbing Mount Tai in the Rain? Do you know the artistic conception of climbing Mount Tai in the rain and snow? That is another realm to show the charm of Mount Tai.

My friend, if you enjoy this spectacle in Shang Ruo, you might as well choose a semi-sunny and semi-foggy weather to visit Mount Tai, which may open your eyes!
