A year ago, I was the first to test drive the brand-new Volkswagen Polo in Italy. The biggest change in the Polo that abandoned the PQ25 platform was the size. However, the space of Polo without using the "full blood version" MQB platform is just enough. Therefore, in order to meet the needs of households, Skoda Scala, which is on the same platform as Polo, came into being.

Scala is a brand-new model in Skoda product line. Its predecessor is Skoda Rapid, which is the domestic Skoda Xindong. Due to the abandonment of PQ25 platform, the brand-new MQB? A0 platform has less restrictions on the body size. Coupled with the adoption of Skoda's brand-new design language, the visual width of the front face is wider and the visual center is much lower than Rapid. But think about it, how many of the configurations mentioned above are just needed? It seems that at this time, I have no expectations for the configuration level of this car. But when I saw the lever of ACC adaptive cruise, I began to be interested in the configuration of this car again-almost none of the super practical configurations such as automatic LED low beam, lane keeping and four-door one-button lifting window were absent. It is worth mentioning that the automatic wiper, which is often tied to the automatic headlights but of little use, has been removed! To tell the truth, if I buy this car, I will feel that I didn't spend a penny in terms of configuration.

First of all, the use of a large number of hard plastics makes the sound absorption in the car worse. In addition, the A-pillar will have some abnormal noise at some time. Fortunately, all the places in the front row that touch the body and dashboard are soft.

Come to the back row, Scala is MQB? The biggest car on A0 platform. Due to the wheelbase of 2650mm, the rear space of Scala is larger than other models on the same platform, but for Chinese people, this space is only at a sufficient level. The surprise at the configuration level is not over yet. Although the air outlet of rear air conditioner is a very popular configuration in China, there are not many air outlets equipped with rear air outlet in the European compact car market. In addition, high-profile models can even be equipped with rear seat heating!

There will be a delay in the initial dynamic response, but the absolute power is absolutely enough. Because we adopted MQB? A0 platform, Scala has no hybrid and 48V light hybrid models. The gasoline version has three cylinders of 1.0TSI and 1.5TSI to choose from. Personally, I think it is necessary to buy1.5tsi.

In terms of suspension, it is natural that the torsion beam is hung behind, because it is guided by the family car and its positioning is lower than that of golf. Compared with golf, the adjustment of the whole suspension lacks some toughness, and in some bumps, especially when passing through the speed bump, it still lacks some sense of advanced compared with golf. In addition, because of the sound insulation of the rear row and the suspension, the rear row can always hear the sound of the suspension bumping, which makes people feel like taking a taxi (in fact, it is really used as a taxi in Europe).

Compared with the surprise brought by the configuration, Scala's biggest shortcoming may be the driving experience. Its accelerator pedal is heavy and its brake pedal is much lighter, which in turn gives people a "heavy feeling" of driving. For example, you will feel that this is like a muscular man sprinting, with sufficient strength but not enough flexibility. Similarly, the steering wheel becomes lighter at low speed, and the directivity becomes a little fuzzy, so it will be a little messy when crawling at low speed. Fortunately, ACC and lane keeping are standard. Who cares if the air conditioner is electrified after leaving the city? ...

Summary:

Scala is a very cost-effective family car, although it adopts the "non-full blood version" MQB? A0 platform, but the whole vehicle experience will make people feel very comfortable. There are not too many useless configurations and too many decorations, but almost all the configurations are in my heart! Such a refreshing car, the overall pricing is below golf and above Polo, which just fills the market gap of Volkswagen in the range of 20,000 euros. 20 19 has driven many compact cars of the same class, but it seems that everyone has their own advantages and disadvantages. The so-called "bucket truck" doesn't actually exist. If you ask me today, do you recommend a compact car? I will not hesitate to recommend Skoda Scala to you!
