Content introduction:

Shanghai, 1932. One night in late autumn and early winter, a young man who had just returned from Europe and worked as a reporter in a newspaper met a woman who wanted to buy Time brand cigarettes in a cigarette paper shop on Ma Xiao Road near Nanjing Road. This woman, wearing a black cheongsam, is tall and has a face of Leng Yan. She speaks very awkwardly, which makes men feel strange. The man deliberately lingered in front of the shop and overheard her talking with the owner of the cigarette and paper shop. Their words are vague and evasive, as if hiding unknown secrets. The man walked slowly out of the alley. At the intersection, the man lit a cigarette and suddenly heard a voice asking for directions, which was very strange. He doesn't call that man "sir", but simply calls him "man". When the man looked intently, it was the woman he met in the cigarette paper shop. The man asked why he was called "Man". The woman vaguely claimed that she was a ghost. Although the man is a little lonely in his heart, he suspects that the woman is a joke and is attracted by her unique temperament and appearance. Instead of taking it to heart, he walks with her. Along the way, some strange phenomena happened one after another, and men didn't know whether it was an illusion or the truth. This woman's detachment makes people wonder whether she is a fairy or a ghost. ...

This film combines the characteristics and commercial elements of literary films, exploration films, suspense films and romance films, and tells a romantic story with ups and downs.

This film won the Best Photography Award and the Best Art Award in the Golden Rooster Award of China film from 65438 to 0995.

The famous painter Chen Yifei's second film, A Man About Dusk, aimed at Shanghai in 1930s and 1940s, seeking the prosperity and vicissitudes of this once flashy oriental metropolis. The composition, color and light in the picture all show high artistry, vividly depicting the customs and feelings of the old Shanghai.
