What is a post-movie?

Seven years after graduation, I only did one job, that is, the later stage of film and television.

What is a post-movie? Even though most of my family and friends don't know what they do. In layman's terms, it is to make videos. At first, I explained this to my family:

The completion of a creative short film or advertising film probably needs several links: copywriting script, creative segmentation, pre-shooting, three-dimensional animation, post-synthesis, editing and dubbing soundtrack. My job is just to undertake the' post-synthesis'. Compared with the previous shooting, the later shooting is similar to the photographer taking wedding photos. We take the photos to retouch and beautify them, and then give them to our customers. The difference is that the post-processing of film and television is not photos, but videos.

What can I do in the later stage of film and television? Take this short video as an example. There are several people riding bicycles in this video, but I am the only one. Put the camera in a fixed position, I rode in front of the camera many times, and then after post-processing, I can achieve the effect that many people appear in one picture at the same time.

Take the following photo as an example:

Maybe you already know how this is done. I just need one person, a motorcycle, a camera and a tripod to create the illusion of a motorcade. Similarly, the camera is fixed on a tripod, and the car stops at different positions several times to take pictures. After that, several photos were synthesized by software, and the above picture was obtained. Of course, I can also add other things to pictures and videos at will, such as cigarettes, fire and beautiful women. It's up to you. At work, it depends on the customer's wishes, and whatever the customer asks you to add.

We usually watch movies and TV series, especially sci-fi and fantasy movies, and there will be a lot of special effects shots, but now computer special effects can be confused with reality, and there may be post-effects where the audience can see them. Last year, Paul, one of the leading men in the movie Fast and furious 7, died in a car accident before the end of the movie. How can we continue filming without actors? Finally, we know that the film was released, but some scenes of Paul in the film were made by computer stunts. At that time, as an audience, I just didn't see which ones were live performances and which ones were made by computers. In the early shooting, Paul's younger brother was used as body double, and later, his younger brother's face was replaced by Paul's face. You can't say it without looking at the behind-the-scenes tidbits.

In the later stage of film and television, you can also achieve some work out of nothing and visualize your own ideas.

Take a project I did before as an example, which is a channel package of Shandong Satellite TV. This type is the same as the earth mentioned at the beginning of the news broadcast. First of all, my colleagues in the creative department will determine the visual scheme, what colors and elements they want, etc. According to the requirements of customers, make the following sub-pictures. I will make a complete animated short film based on these pictures in the future.

Generally speaking, any video may involve the later stage of film and television. You can understand it as retouching behind the scenes, but it's just a video.
