12080 1 China e-commerce started with the application of EDI in the early 1990s. 1993- 1997 started the "three gold projects" which laid the foundation for the development of e-commerce, and 1998 began to enter the development stage based on the Internet. With the deepening of e-commerce in China's economic activities, more and more industries have joined the practice of e-commerce.
At the same time, the power industry has also made some attempts and practices in e-commerce. Following the market-oriented reform of China's power industry in 2002, the State Power Company, as the leader of the power industry, put forward in the Tenth Five-Year Plan: "Relying on scientific and technological progress, doing a good job in power informatization and promoting the modernization process of power enterprises", which opened the curtain of power informatization and the application of e-commerce in the power industry gradually emerged.
With the rapid development of e-commerce and the rising demand for e-commerce talents, e-commerce education in colleges and universities has been carried out one after another. The initial tentative education mostly takes the form of public elective courses and professional elective courses, and a few schools offer e-commerce courses or e-commerce classes in senior undergraduate students.
Development history
At the end of 2000, the Ministry of Education approved the establishment of e-commerce undergraduate major with the professional code 1 10209W.
In March of 20001year, the Ministry of Education announced the list of undergraduate majors in ordinary colleges and universities in 2000. Approved North Jiaotong University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, university of international business and economics, Northeastern University, Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing Audit University, Zhejiang University, xiamen University, Huaqiao University, Huazhong Normal University, Guangxi University, Yunnan University and Xi Jiaotong University to set up e-commerce majors, and approved Huazhong Normal University and Xi Jiaotong University to set up e-commerce majors. At the end of the same year, the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) approved 83 universities to offer e-commerce undergraduate majors. [3]
At the end of 2002, the Ministry of Education approved 58 colleges and universities to offer e-commerce undergraduate majors.
In April, 2006, the Ministry of Education formally established the teaching steering committee of e-commerce specialty in colleges and universities.
In March 2008, the "Undergraduate Education Knowledge System of E-commerce in Ordinary Colleges and Universities" compiled by the Teaching Steering Committee of E-commerce Specialty in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education began to be tried out. By the end of 2008, a total of 327 universities across the country had offered undergraduate courses in e-commerce.
By the end of 20 10, the Ministry of Education has approved 339 undergraduate schools to offer e-commerce majors.

By the end of 20 16, there were 474 undergraduate colleges and universities in China offering e-commerce related majors.
