What is sps coral?

SPS corals (Small Polyp Stony Corals) are small polyp hard corals, and most SPS are hard corals.

Hard corals have single and complex bodies, and the tentacles and septa are generally six and multiples of six. It first appeared in the Middle Triassic and extended to modern times. There are two types of reef-building and non-reef-building. There are single corals and complex corals. The shape of the single body is generally cone-shaped, and the complex body has plexus-shaped, corner-columnar-shaped, interconnected-shaped, and brain-striated shapes. The surface walls of hard corals are not easy to preserve, but the walls are preserved.
