So when we visit our family, we will always meet adults who are not at home, working in the fields, coming back very late, or our family is not here, so we can't take a group photo. This requires us to make a second home visit. In fact, we visited many families two or three times, and some even visited four or five times. The local people have lived in this barren land for generations, and the foreign population is very small. Their languages are all Miao, and they can speak Mandarin when they come back from work, but the older ones can't, so every time we visit home, we will bring a senior, who can lead us and help us translate. It's difficult, but it's not important. The important thing is that we took a group photo for each family, which is also the purpose of our trip. We also expanded the scope of work, not only taking photos of left-behind children and guardians, but also taking family photos of families of non-left-behind children, and decided to print them and send them back to Jiaxing, because for many local elderly people, this may be the first time in their lives. Whenever they understand that we are going to take pictures, they will go to the closet to find the beautiful Miao dress at the bottom of the closet, put it on, tidy up their makeup, and then sit up. Printed two photos of left-behind children, one sent to the local area and one sent to the parents of the children. For those poor students, our visit has brought them encouragement and hope.
Home visits provide a better platform for us to get in touch with students, because we walk into the homes of local students, get close to their lives, blend into their inner world, and feel embarrassed living conditions and backward education system. Perhaps home visits are of little help to ordinary people, but we believe that these small photos bear the deep friendship of the family, the children's full love for their parents, and our deep blessings to the people in Miao Township.
