How to find your own photography style?

This is one of the most common questions for new photographers. How do I find my style? At the heart of this question is our desire to find our place in the industry. In an industry that's so saturated, and a market where everyone else seems to know what they're doing, this is a completely legitimate question. If you're wondering how to find your style, these tips are for you.

Shoot what you love

Don’t forget to take the time to shoot what you love. Pick up your camera when you get the chance to shoot. If you can’t stay inspired, you’ll be in trouble. Bound into boredom and burnout. Make a plan to share what you like with your friends who like it.

Shoot often

One of the best things you can do when you're trying to find your style is to shoot regularly. Photography tends to improve your skills and forces you to start looking at things in a creative way. When you're ready to take your photography to the next level, shooting regularly will give you a routine of seeing your surroundings against the backdrop of your lens, rather than just a fleeting act.

Observation Mode

After a period of time, please pause photography to view the works of other photographers and compare your works. What photos do you really love? Which people speak to you the most? Once you've chosen those, compare them. What do they have in common? Are there patterns or themes that can be found? For me it's relationships, lightness, honesty, real life moments and emotions.

Don’t copy

Don’t copy your style from others. This is just duplication of work. If your work is necessary, you also need to continuously improve your abilities.

But don’t copy mechanically. The art of great photography goes deeper than mere copying, trust yourself to create something great.

Achieved through long-term practice

Really finding your style is a process and will not be achieved immediately. But if you take the time to explore your own work and inspiration, your style will emerge. You will start to see more and more of them in your photos. This may not be a quick process, but it's worth it. Don't be surprised if your style grows over time.

The common thread that runs through these techniques is: finding your own style is a journey for each of us. This is different for all of us, but follow these tips and you'll discover your true style.
