I'm obsessed with buying cameras recently. Canon G 12

The reason why Canon G 12 has better image quality than the general card machine is that its sensor area is about 80% larger than the general card machine (sensor area is the most important factor to determine image quality). Secondly, Canon G series cameras have more key dials, and some parameter settings will be faster.

Canon G 12 is indeed a little better than G 1 1. One is to increase the ability of high-definition camera (720P), and the other is to increase the functions such as HDR, digital filter and electronic level (these functions were relatively new three years ago, and now everyone is richer and more powerful than it). As far as picture quality and control are concerned, there is not much progress.

However, at present, these two models are not very recommended. The reason is that G 1 1 is a product of 2009, and G 12 is a product of 20 10. On the one hand, I am afraid to buy a second-hand refurbished/repaired/faulty machine. On the other hand, electronic components have a long life. You probably wouldn't have bought a mobile phone three or four years ago, would you?

In terms of cost performance, Canon really wants Bisogni Pentax to be lower. Canon is famous for its photographic equipment. If the performance is the same and the price is the same, who will consider buying Sony and Pentax, two "second-tier brands"?

If you don't need to be more professional and care more about portability, there are many better options.

First choice, Sony RX 100, with excellent image quality (the sensor area is close to 3 times that of Canon G112! ), the maneuverability is almost the same (rich key dialing), and the performance is much stronger (1080P full HD camera, hand-held night scene, panoramic scanning, etc. ), and it is much smaller. Of course, the price is a little more expensive.

Followed by a variety of micro-cameras, such as Panasonic GF5 (high-speed focusing, touch screen), Olympus EPM2 (high-speed focusing, Canon G series focusing speed is simply weak), Sony NEXF3 (excellent image quality, 180 flip screen for self-timer), Nikon J 1 (high-speed focusing, high-speed camera shooting) and so on. The size is also small, and the picture quality is better than Canon.

In addition, the volume performance of Nikon P7 100 is equivalent to that of Canon G series, but the telephoto end is much longer. The picture quality of Canon S 100V is the same as that of Canon G series, which is much smaller and less maneuverable, but it has many automatic functions. Pentax MX 1, the new flagship card machine, has good performance and the price of the new machine is not too cheap. Fuji XF 1 and X 10 are similar choices.
