The patient lies on his back on the photographic table, with his head leaning back as far as possible, so that the top of his head touches the desktop. The auditory line is parallel to the film cassette as far as possible, and the median sagittal plane is vertical and coincides with the center line of the desktop. The upper edge of the cassette is 5cm beyond the forehead, and the lower edge includes the occipital protuberance.
