In our daily shooting, portrait photography undoubtedly accounts for a large proportion, whether it is close-up, portrait, bust or full-length portrait, we can all collectively call it portrait photography. Before it becomes a work, we usually input it into the computer and further modify the picture through photoshop. The emphasis of decoration is on characters, and the focus of character decoration is usually on faces. The details of the characters can be improved by modification.

Taking an ordinary life photo as an example, we use the most basic retouching tools, combining layers and masks to achieve the final retouching purpose.

For the convenience of modification, hold down ctrl and click the "+"keyboard key continuously to enlarge the picture, generally to 100%, and then click the "H" key, the cursor will become a small hand in the picture, so drag the mouse until you want the picture; After zooming in, you can see that there are many spots and some acne on the face of the character;

3. first modify the obvious spots on your face. Click the restore brush tool in the toolbox and adjust various parameters in the options bar (the size is mainly based on actual needs, the hardness is generally 0, and the spacing is mainly based on the default);

4. Using the diameter adjustment tool, first hold down the Alt key near the facial defect part and click the left mouse button, then move to the defect part and click the left mouse button again. The original defects on the face are covered by good skin; As can be seen from the modified figure below, the facial defects are basically gone, and the skin has become much cleaner;

Key points:

Generally, this tool can be used for facial scars, acne, moles and so on. It is actually the same as the stamp tool in usage and principle; This is just a new function in photoshop7.0, but it can automatically fuse the results according to the shadow, brightness and material of the copied part, so it is particularly effective for skin modification. When decorating the enlarged picture, you can hold down the space bar of the keyboard and drag the icon to move to the desired area. Press "["and "]" on the keyboard to adjust the diameter of the tool immediately.

At this time, we can make appropriate retouching on the model's face. First, open the deepening tool in the toolbox to deepen the eyebrows;

6. Also adjust its diameter first, which is usually equivalent to the width of eyebrows, and the exposure is generally 20%-30%; When retouching, drag the mouse from the inside to the outside according to the direction of the eyebrows for n times until you are satisfied;

7. Then use the sponge tool in the toolbox to increase the brightness of lip color and choose the appropriate diameter. The process is generally set to 40%-50%. When retouching, drag the mouse n times according to the lip line until you are satisfied;

8. You can also use shading tools to properly treat the model's eye socket, the shadow part of the right corner of the eye and the neck to achieve the purpose of harmony with the face color; Exposure is generally 20%-30%;

9. Finally, we use the fuzzy tools in the toolbox to blur the rough and dry skin of the model's forehead and lower eyelid, and the intensity is generally15%-20%; Also drag the mouse according to the texture of the skin;

Key points:

The above introduces the retouching tools such as deepening, diluting and blurring. When using them, you must drag the mouse according to the texture of the skin. Parameter values (intensity, exposure, etc. ) should be as little as possible, in the case of ensuring quality and achieving the goal, the number of operations should be as few as possible to avoid duplication. So as to ensure the picture quality.

10. Up to now, the basic retouching work has been completed. Let's combine filters and masks to further improve the picture. Click menu bar/layer/copy layer first, and then press "OK" after the dialog box appears. At this point, there is a copied layer on the Layers panel.

13. Merge two layers in the Layers panel into one layer, and use the "Layers" command (Ctrl+L) to brighten the dim picture;

14. Let's enter the quick mask mode from the toolbox; And choose the brush tool in the toolbox and smear the parts you want to be clear, such as eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

15. Back to the standard mode, you can see that the selected part has changed from red to dotted line;

16. At this time, press the "Ctrl" and "J" keys on the keyboard at the same time to designate the newly selected part as the new layer; Then select menu bar/Filter/Sharpen //USM Sharpen command, select the appropriate option value, and press OK;

17. Finally, merge the layers again, and adjust the brightness of the picture appropriately with the color scale command again.

Key points:

This part of the layer, mask and filter are used together. You can press "Ctrl" and "+"or.

"Ctrl" and "-"keys enlarge or reduce the picture. When you enter the Quick Template to paint with a brush, you must specify the foreground color of the brush as black and the background color as white. If you want to erase the painted part, you must switch colors, that is, the foreground color is white and the background color is black.

In general, when retouching a picture, especially a portrait, we usually adjust the exposure of the picture with color code or curve command first, and then use retouching tools, including stamping, restoring brush, deepening and lightening. For the obviously rough parts, we can also use the fuzzy tool.
