What are some little-known but very interesting places in Xiamen?
Xiamen is actually a very small city, but as a tourist city its popularity is not inferior to that of relatively larger places such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Lijiang. As a result, this small place has been thoroughly explored by countless guides and tourists.
So it is really difficult to find a little-known but interesting attraction.
Natural Scenery Category:
Wanshi Botanical Garden: Xiamen’s mountains, from Yundingyan to Dongping Mountain, and from Dongping Mountain to the Botanical Garden, it only takes an hour or two. . The mountain is not steep, just like taking a walk to look at the flowers, grass, mountains, rivers and other things on both sides, I feel quite relaxed. It is recommended to enter from the entrance of Wenzeng Road. There will be fewer people and there will not be so many tourist buses.
The rapeseed field in Jimei Houxi: Here is a picture. Jimei is outside the island. If you go to Houxi, you can get there by BRT. It's also very fast if you take a bus or a motorcycle. The rapeseed field is not big, so you have to choose the right time to go. It is more suitable for adults to take children to see the farmland scenery, because there are many vegetables and strawberries.
Railway Park: It is said to be a park, but it is actually several sections of pedestrian streets along an old railway track. It is a good place for walking and leisure.
Wuyuanwan Wetland Park: It is another park. It is a suitable place for taking a walk or even jogging while watching the sea.
Zhonglun Park: The park itself is nothing, but February and March are a good time to enjoy flowers. The cherry blossoms and peach blossoms are blooming beautifully.
Humanities:
Jimei School Village: In addition to Xiamen University, Xiamen also has Jimei University. Jimei University is located in Jimei Village. There are also elementary, junior high and high schools in the village. It is the place where generations of Jimei people study and grow. The architecture of Jimei Mei Village is very unique. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, a dragon boat race is held in the dragon boat pool. The Ao Garden next to it was expanded by Mr. Tan Kah Kee. It contains the Jimei Liberation Monument and Mr. Tan Kah Kee’s mausoleum.
Overseas Chinese Museum: A small museum with the theme of overseas Chinese history. It is the only overseas Chinese-run museum in China.
