I don't like boring work in the office. I like to work freely and casually, and it doesn't matter if I am tired. What am I suitable for?
Requirements for freelancers:
1, your skill or product itself is excellent (core competitiveness)
2. You go out and accept failure.
It is better to have the support of family.
Tell me about other people's own experiences:
I resigned last summer and started to work as a freelance photographer. Before that, I was a legendary product manager, working hard in the mobile industry. Years of work, as well as some things in the later period, made me understand what I want to do:
1, no need to work overtime.
2, values do not collapse.
3, have moral integrity.
4, the proportion allocated to life is greater, even if you earn less.
5, a job that I can do.
There must also be sacrifices. What I am willing and must sacrifice is:
1, not bad steady salary.
2. Years of product working experience (another industry starts from 0)
To sum up, with the encouragement of my family and friends around me, I started my career as a freelance photographer. So far, for more than half a year, I have answered the above questions with practical actions:
1, no need to work overtime.
In fact, I will still work overtime, but it is completely different from the overtime nature of "making the boss feel that we are working hard" at work. I am willing to spend more time on my own affairs. What's more, in general, the frequency and number of overtime work can be completely controlled by yourself.
2, values do not collapse.
-Very cool. My product is no longer linked to vulgar propaganda, which is especially cool and happy. If you work for yourself, your values must not fall (the product I made before is a very common kind of software, but I can't agree with it every time I promote it by inferior means)
3, have moral integrity.
-I won't take everything to make money. Although some people pay more soon, if they are not my type, or I don't agree, I will refuse. In other words, you must have your own pursuit.
4, the proportion allocated to life is greater, even if you earn less.
-The work assigned to me every month is not saturated, and I am free to choose to do my own thing half the time. You can often cook at home and eat by yourself, and the happiness index will rise.
5, a job that I can do.
-From pre-shooting to post-editing, and then to the finished photo album, I am in control.
Yes, all the above are good and bad, but we must believe that they are all temporary. For example, at the beginning, you should be prepared not to make money for a year. I am very lucky. I started to earn my first income in the first month after I resigned, which was small but worth celebrating.
At first, the most important thing is to be recognized. Recognizing you by strangers is a good first step. Don't think about making money at this time. If you have something you want to accomplish, you should actively strive for it. At that time, I did some public welfare shooting, which attracted a lot of attention and completed a new identity change. People started calling me a photographer, haha.
See your way clearly, and don't be confused by all kinds of external voices. The market for photography is already very large, with hundreds of dollars of online group purchases piling up. A big organization like Kid X Jia has already occupied a big part of the market, so why compete with it? On the one hand, the economic strength is not stronger than others, on the other hand, the manpower is not stronger than others. Walking and shooting is very unreliable, which is tantamount to throwing an egg at a stone.
More importantly, what I want to shoot is not posing in front of the same background cloth, but a delicate and patient life follow-up to ensure that everyone is different. A very mature industry must have many subdivided branches to explore. For example, the stationery market in Japan is extremely strong, and there are all kinds of unexpected things. There are at least 10 magazines about stationery alone.
These branches are especially suitable for individual entrepreneurs. There was a passage when I saw Luo Ji's thinking before: "In the Internet age, every little person has a chance." You found out, and then you did it more seriously than others, and the opportunity came naturally. Success is not only to be big, but also to think clearly about your own path, not to be greedy, to do something small and beautiful, and to achieve yourself is also good.
Income is fleeting in front of it. Now let's say a few more words:
1, which is zero or very little from the beginning. Unless I am lucky enough to get the help of the big coffee in the industry, I naturally don't. Open the popularity and the income can keep up. My Weibo fans range from 10 to more than 1000, all of which are self-employed, not many, but I am proud that none of them are zombie fans, and some of them are diehard fans.
2. I chose a relatively low-cost way. If you don't open a physical store, you will save the bulk of the rent, water and electricity. The relative sacrifice is that I live by the sun. Haha, it's difficult to shoot in bad weather. Want to spend less but have both ends? That's not specified. Forget it.
In the past six months, from scratch to now, the income has generally developed better and better, but it is still far from making big money. You should be patient, calm down and live as long as possible.
I also want to say that these six months have been really free. And the spirit is good, getting up every day is effortless, my eyes and head don't hurt, and it doesn't hurt to go up to the fifth floor in one breath ... In fact, my mind is relaxed and my whole energy is up. I used to be a very introverted person with a little inferiority, but now I am more cheerful and confident. It's good to have a skill to support yourself. ...
Oh, there are some particularly annoying questions, that is, when you start doing it, someone appears and they keep asking you, "Are you reliable in doing this?" "How risky are you at your age?" Others earnestly tell you that "this industry is not as easy as you think, blablabla", "you are too idealistic" and so on. If you do, please remember a universal answer: "So what?"
When you have a little success, people who don't usually contact you often ask, "What is your profit rate?" "How much money can you earn a month? How much are you worth? " "It's very simple for you, right? Just buy a camera? " Please keep a steady mind and say to them word by word: "It's none of your business" or just say "Hehe". Don't be afraid of offending people, just as you can't let flies stop on watermelons for fear of being killed.
Alas, the most frequently asked question is, in fact, have you ever thought about what to do if you fail?
Again: "So what?"
It's not like you can't hold your head again if you fail. If it's a big deal, continue to work nine to five.
