Activities at Feng Xiaogang Film Commune

The Film Commune includes three main streets, namely the 1942 Republic of China Street that has been built and the Old Beijing Street and Nanyang Street that are under construction; three theme areas, namely the Feng's Lunar New Year Movie Landscape Area and the Church Square Area And the world's largest 8,000-square-meter studio and supporting service area; and an Avenue of Stars for Filmmakers. .

Avenue of Stars

It is composed of the star’s handprints and signatures. It is made of a whole piece of marble and cut, carved and polished manually to create a 1.2-meter-high ArtDeco-style base. It is convenient for tourists to take photos in front of the handprints of their favorite stars. Most of the first batch of 80 celebrity handprints and signatures presented have been to the Film Commune, including Feng Xiaogang, Ge You, Zhang Guoli, Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Xu Fan, Song Dandan, Yao Chen, Li Bingbing, Liao Fan, Duan Yihong, etc., as well as Hollywood superstars Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Jay Chou, Donnie Yen, Yao Ming and other leading stars. It is definitely a happy thing to walk on the Avenue of Stars, feel the strong starlight, and meet your idols unexpectedly.

1942 Street

1942 Street, which was first opened by the Film Commune, is very popular among tourists. In the current street, businesses such as catering, performance-style shooting, tourist souvenirs, theme hotels, and cultural exhibitions have been opened. While tourists can appreciate the architectural style of the Republic of China, they can also experience high-quality services in various aspects such as food, accommodation, shopping, and entertainment. In addition, new facilities and services are constantly being added to 1942 Street, including the Rongguang Cinema, which will screen the Lunar New Year film collection "Eighteen Years of Sadness and Joy" edited by director Feng Xiaogang specially for the Film Society, as well as the Ancient Coin Museum and the Gold Coin Museum. 1942 Republic of China Street is based on the Chongqing street that appeared in Feng Xiaogang's movie "1942". The 91 buildings combine the typical architectural styles of Chongqing, Wuhan, Nanjing, Shanghai and other places in the four major cities in the Yangtze River Basin in the 1930s and 1940s.

Socialist Old Beijing Street

There are shadows of Feng’s film "Tangshan Earthquake". It uses the architecture of the 1950s and 1960s after the founding of New China as the main style element of the planning.

Nanyang Street

On the morning of December 22, 2015, the "Feng Xiaogang Film Commune Nanyang Street" with Nanyang style opened.

Nanyang Street is the second characteristic street completed by Mission Hills Huayi Feng Xiaogang Film Commune. Inspired by the arcade buildings in the Pearl River Basin, especially in Haikou, it is a collection of 70 Nanyang-style buildings that complement each other in Chinese and foreign architectural styles. Among them, the contemporary Nanyang architectural clusters such as archways, piers, bell towers, and small bridges are very interesting.
