Therefore, I will use two tutorials this time to tell you how to manage bookmarks on Safari. You can find the web pages you need more easily, and no longer reduce your work efficiency because of messy bookmarks.

1 . Turn on the "Favorites Bar" to access bookmarks faster

Safari can place bookmarks placed in the "Favorites Bar (or Bookmark Bar)" below the address bar. This feature is available in Firefox It is also available on the Internet, which allows users to quickly click on the webpage they want to see directly in the window without having to click on the bookmark menu. Now, the new version of Safari does not display the favorites bar by default. You must click "Display Mode" => "Show Favorites Bar" to turn on this feature. Afterwards, as long as you set the location to "Favorite Items" when adding a bookmark (as shown below), the bookmark will be displayed on the Favorite Items column!

When adding bookmarks, remember to select the "Add this page" item as "Favorites", so that the newly added bookmarks will appear in the favorites column. As for how to modify and move existing projects, please see "2. Organize your bookmarks..." in this article.

2. Use folders to organize bookmarks and don’t clutter the menu

If you want to directly access the bookmarks menu or favorites list Organizing web page records is very difficult, so Safari provides the useful function of "Show all bookmarks". Click "Bookmarks" => "Show Bookmarks" to open a single window showing all bookmarks (as shown below). You can reorganize, add, and delete your bookmarks directly on this page by dragging and dropping.

In order to avoid Your bookmark menu is getting too long, using folders is a great way to organize your bookmarks! The button to add a new folder is hidden in the lower left corner of the window (it's very small...). After clicking, an empty folder will appear for you to fill in the folder name. But special attention must be paid: the newly added folder will not appear in the favorites column!

Since the newly added folder will appear in the root directory of the bookmark, you must use dragging (see method 3. Drag and drop...) to move the newly added folder upwards. Go to favorite items, and the folder will appear in the favorite items column.

After putting the bookmark into the folder and moving the folder to the favorites, it will appear in the "Favorites Bar"! After that, you just need to click on the folder name, and a category menu as shown above will appear. You can directly find your pre-saved bookmarks there, without having to search for a needle in a haystack in a long bookmark menu like in the past.

3. Drag and drop to organize bookmarks and arrange the display order according to your preference!

No matter You can move folders or bookmarks directly by dragging. If you want to move many items at once, please press Shift or Command to select multiple items, and then drag again. Can. If you just want to change the order of the favorite items, just click on the bookmarks or folders with the mouse directly on the favorite items bar, and then drag left or right to change the order! As for deleting it, it is very simple. Just drag it out to a blank space, and the bookmark or folder will disappear entirely ~

4. Folders in folders , allowing you to classify folders with too many bookmarks into multiple layers

The right side of the above picture demonstrates the method of dragging the entire folder. In the picture, you can see that I actually moved the folder "Put it into a folder", this allows you to create multiple sub-category folders under the large category folder. After the addition is completed, it will look like the picture above, and a second folder will appear in the folder in the favorites column. , if there are too many items in the original folder, you can use this method for secondary classification.
