Her past welfare home life was a mess, which only existed in her memory. When she met Gu, who was also lonely, she had an inexplicable closeness and curiosity about him.

Gu: Gu's father. Gu entered the labor camp at the age of 5, was swept out by his wife, and lived alone in Beidaihe. He goes to Beijing twice a year by bike just to see the children from a distance.
