Harry Potter and the behind-the-scenes production of the Deathly Hallows (I)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the last novel in the Harry Potter series, and its author J·K· Rowling devoted a lot of efforts to this episode. The Last Deathly Hallows consists of 36 chapters and a postscript. The length of Deathly Hallows published in the United States has reached 759 pages (607 pages in the British version). For such a vast space, it is unthinkable to adapt the novel into a film in great detail, so the final film is divided into two parts. In fact, The Deathly Hallows is not the first Harry Potter film to be discussed. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire wants to be made into a series.
Creative team
Before David Yates was officially declared as the director, Alfonso Cuarón who directed Prisoner of Azkaban and Guillermo del toro who missed Prisoner of Azkaban both expressed their willingness to direct the film. But at that time, Deltoro was busy with the preparations for The Hobbit and had to give up. Considering that this is the end of the whole series, producer david heyman hoped that the film would be consistent with the style of the first two episodes of Harry Potter, so he easily thought of David Yates, the director of the first two episodes.
In addition to the director problem, the crew also encountered some problems in the choice of photographers. Because Bruno Delbonnel, the French photographer in charge of Half-Blood Prince, didn't want to continue filming Harry Potter, the crew was caught in the dilemma of choosing a photographer. Finally, Hyman invited the staff and Eduardo Serra, a photographer who has taken business cards such as Blood Diamond, Rebel Force and Girl with Pearl Earrings, to take charge of the mirror.
Special effects production
Harry Potter films have always been made by industrial light magic, but since Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I, with the withdrawal of industrial light magic, the British special effects company Double Negative began to provide major special effects services for films. In fact, since Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Double Negative has provided special effects services for every Harry Potter film.
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part I), the special effects team led by Tim Burke is mainly responsible for the following scenes in the film: the rusting of Warner's logo at the beginning of the film, the digital extension and 3D effect production of the surrounding environment of burrow and Shenofilius, the improvement of the "smoke" effect when the Death Eaters "fly" and the transition when they land, and the notice of the patron saint at the wedding. In addition, the film also cooperated with Framestore to make an animated short film "The Story of Three Brothers". Also participated in the production of CGI creatures, such as Dobby and Kreacher.
Music making
David yates's first composer was Nicholas Hooper, who worked with him, but Huo Po refused the director's request. In desperation, I found john williams who made music for the first three episodes of Harry Potter. After checking his schedule, Williams agreed. But it didn't work out in the end. Finally, alexandre desplat took over the baton of music production, and Displatt used the theme song of "Hedwig Ge" written by Williams for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in the film. 20 10 On August 4th, Displatt recorded movie music with the London Symphony Orchestra.
clothes design
20 10 10 On the eve of the film's release, it was reported that Jenny Temei, the costume designer of the film, copied the wedding dress design released by Alexander McQueen in 2008. Jenny Temime only borrowed from it, but it can't be regarded as complete plagiarism. McQueen used bird patterns on his clothes, but the bird species he used was peacock. But Temimei changed the peacock's head to the phoenix's, but she neglected to change the feathers, so in Temimei's design, the feathers on the phoenix were obviously peacock's.
