Heilongjiang Art Vocational College, formerly known as Heilongjiang Opera School, was founded in 1959 and renamed Heilongjiang Art School in 1972. In September 2002, with the approval of the provincial government, it merged with Heilongjiang Cultural Cadre School to form Heilongjiang Art Vocational College. At present, it is the only public full-time comprehensive art vocational college in Heilongjiang Province. The college has two campuses, the main campus is located at Hexing Road 149, nangang district, and the sub-campus is located at 2 1, Zhongxing Street, nangang district, with a total area of 160 mu. In addition to the headquarters, our college has set up 10 branch schools in the whole province.

As the predecessor of the college, Heilongjiang Art School has been rated as "National Key Art Secondary School" by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture for many times. In 2000, 2004, 2008, 20 13, it was rated as a provincial "model of civilized units" by the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government.

The college has a long history and profound cultural and artistic heritage. Over the past 50 years, it has trained a large number of well-known performing artists and playwrights in the whole province and even the whole country, and is known as the "cradle of artistic talents in Heilongjiang".
