What's the use of drones?

Uavs were first used as target aircraft to train pilots and gunners. Now it is widely used, mainly for reconnaissance, surveillance, communication, anti-submarine, electronic interference and so on. Unmanned aerial vehicles used for reconnaissance, those equipped with advanced electronic equipment can conduct electronic reconnaissance, those equipped with cameras are photographic reconnaissance, those equipped with low-light-level television cameras and infrared sensors can conduct photoelectric reconnaissance, and those equipped with millimeter-wave radar or side-looking radar can conduct radar reconnaissance. If special instruments such as atmospheric sampling device and nuclear radiation metering device are installed, they can enter the nuclear explosion area for nuclear reconnaissance.

With the development and application of high-tech, the performance of equipment on UAV is also improving. At the same time, some new equipment has been added, and the application scope has been further expanded. If equipped with global positioning system, UAV can cooperate with reconnaissance satellites and manned reconnaissance planes to form a three-dimensional aerial reconnaissance and surveillance network with high, medium and low altitude, multi-level and multi-orientation, which makes the obtained intelligence information more accurate and reliable.

UAV can be used as a relay communication platform, and the communication coverage can be expanded by installing amplifier chains and transceiver antennas. Unmanned aerial vehicles can also be used as attack weapons. Helicopters equipped with missiles and guided bombs can attack enemy military targets such as radar, missile positions and tanks.
